I promised myself that in order to get myself into writing again I was going to do a review of each episode immediately after it aired and be more interactive on my blog. So far we are 4 episodes in and I have managed exactly nada!!!

WHY IS THIS EPISODE CALLED “THE FOUNDRY”? I didn’t see no stinkin’ foundry. Did you see a foundry?

Is anyone else thinking about the theme of children in the episode? When Mary picks a case, it’s about dead children. Their parents couldn’t protect them. The murderer is a father driven mad by grief—and he disgusts her. When he’s burnt up, his child victims form a ring around him and then disappear one by one in flashes of white light. When Mary is possessed by the murderer, he/she says “my children forever” as she chokes Dean. It’s Mary who saves the day by snapping out of the possession just long enough to let go of Dean’s throat and get Sam moving. Later, when she says to Dean she’s not okay, she says she misses “my boys” (Sam and Dean as small children) and she grieves for their lost childhoods with her. And then she says something about them being in heaven with her. Does any of this add up to anything?

Where are the writers going with Mary’s flashback to the night of her death in the fire? Obviously, this is a flash to a future plot point, but what could it be? Also, is she now on her way to Lawrence?
