Only a few years apart in age, Tom and Hael had been friends since the beginning. He hadn't always been a fan of her, but she grew on him overtime. He would eventually fall in love with her - not that he'd pursue it. Tom's family was a military family. The only thing that was different were the twins, that happened to share the same name; Margaret and Meg. He never questioned it. When he was eighteen, Tom was already finding himself on his first tour, despite Hael begging, pleading for him to not go. He wasn't going to go against his father, or Margaret. He would follow in their footsteps. Hael grew up wanting to discover the world. She found everything fascinating - though her favourite landmark had to be any and all icebergs. Okay, so maybe they aren't landmarks, that doesn't lessen her love for them. Tom may have been older, but she knew from the start that she wanted to marry that snobbishly handsome grump of a person. She always took him out into the woods and they would lay there together, underneath the trees in the shade and just talk. Him leaving for war destroyed her. She had lost the other half of her being, and she'd never told him so.

Coming back isn't easy. Tom wants nothing but isolation, but he forces himself out, forces himself to talk to a therapist about his experience overseas. At first he won't see Hael, not until he's certain he's calmed down - then he does see her and the world falls silent. His stomach turns in a way that seems right and the images he would see while trying to fall asleep seem to disappear. She smiles at him and his smile seems to come right back. "So, did you shoot yourself in the foot?" It's like he never left at all. He may not be visibly wounded, but Hael can see Tom's scars. The ones he forces himself to hide from the world. She wishes she could make it better for him, but he still smiles around her, so she at least has that to hold onto. A couple years down the road, they're sharing a beer after Tom's been told he's going to ship out for the third time. Tom doesn't want to leave Hael, and Hael doesn't want Tom to leave her - but neither of them are saying anything. The music seems to be the only thing audible as they look at each other. Then he gets up and leaves. He's lost track of the number of times he's been shipped out, the number of times he's killed a person, the number of times he's felt his grip lose hold of Hael's fingertips. Tom can't take much more of it, and it's almost like someone out there is listening in, looking out for him, because that's when he gets shot, right through his abdomen. It's severe enough that he's sent home on permanent leave, the bullet having down damage to his back. When his father asks about his work, about continuing working for the army inland, Tom dodges the subject. He doesn't know what he wants. Meg talks to Tom, or rather, she used to talk to Tom. Back when he wasn't so torn apart by the last few years. Back when their father wasn't living inside his head. She's glad he has Hael, but she's worried. She's worried about the attachment he has to her. She's grown up watching the two of them and their unspoken love. While she finds it disgusting and worthy of a Nicholas Sparks title, she keeps those thoughts to herself. She knows better than to meddle in Tom's love affairs. The guy's only had one relationship anyway and it didn't really last long. She's not even really sure if he would want to stick it and do the whole nine yards when it came to the white picket fence ordeal.  It's obvious what Tom wants, but Hael won't tell him. He has to come to that conclusion himself, otherwise he could come to regret the decisions he makes. It's almost like everything they're doing is moving at lightning speed. He's drinking more now that he's stuck working part-time at a book shop and helping out at the base outside of town. She sticks by him as much as she can, convincing him to do light hearted activities - like karaoke. Gosh, karaoke is her favourite because boy, can that snobbishly handsome grump of a man sing. Tom doesn't know what makes him do it, but it's one of the many nights of karaoke and he pulls Hael out back. "Tom, what are we do--" she was mid-word, mid-laugh, and now she's mid-kiss. Tom's lips are pressed against her own as he pushes her up against the wall of the bar. She wants to kiss him back, but she can feel the regret stirring in her stomach. Her hands tighten into small, but tight, fists, grabbing at his shirt. She shoves him back suddenly, the both of them breathless. "Isn't this what you want?" Hael looks almost offended when he says it, snapping right back at him, "Not like this, no!"Tom heaves a sigh, "Then tell me what it is that you do want so I can get on with it." "Tom, you've been drinking. Just let me take you home." "Why, so you can tuck me into bed?" His hands find their way back to her hips. She grabs his wrists, "No, because you're drunk and you don't know what you're doing." "I want this, Hael. I've wanted you for years," he almost kisses her again, "Don't you feel the same?" When Hael leaves Tom that night, they don't talk for a while, neither of them knowing what to say to each other - at least, Hael isn't sure what she wants to hear Tom say to her. She has an opportunity to get away though, an opportunity to get out of town and do some light travelling. It's something she's wanted to always do, something she's dreamt of. The one person she'd like to tell, of course, is the one person she can't talk to right now. She feels the spinning deep inside her and it hurts. It's a deafening pain and she hates it. She hates herself. She'd be gone for almost two years and she can't just leave without saying goodbye. Can she? Meg is sick of the silence between them and decides to try and talk to Tom about it, but all it does is end in a fight. The problem is that she knows Hael is going to leave. The fact that she'd even leave without saying goodbye to him is painful enough. If Tom won't talk to her, then she'll talk to Hael herself - which is exactly what she does. She shows up on Hael's doorstep, giving her the short version of her two cents on the situation. "If you both love each other the way I know you do, then you won't let whatever it is fall between you. Take him with you, Hael. You have to tell him it's an option or he'll think it isn't one." Hael leaves.  Tom falls into a world he thought he'd never find himself in, a world of darkness and sin. He might not be religious, but if he were, he knows exactly where he'd be going. Working as a type of cleaner for a man who ran an illegal business was simple. He just disposed of the bodies, took out the trash. The very idea of thinking that it was a simple task was enough for him to know he was going to hell. He wasn't a good person, Hael proved that when she left without saying goodbye. He had messed up so bad that night, but that wasn't something he thought about anymore. No, now he thinks about paying rent on time and managing his boss' wishes. The adventures over the next two years for Hael were phenomenal. She couldn't find the proper words to describe them, but she found a way for the magazine she worked for. She got to meet so many people and learn about so many cultures. There was something missing from her trip, but she never let it bring her down. Not until she was visiting Libya and found herself somehow in the midst of an attack in relation to the Libyan civil war. It was the only moment that truly made her think of Tom, and made her see with her own two eyes what he went through, watching the soldiers make decisions they shouldn't have to make.  Tom knows when Hael comes back, and he knows about the Libyan crisis before someone even mutters it to him at the bar. He won't go and see her,  he's too stubborn for something like that. He focuses on the book store, and on his work for Mr. Styne. Meg watches as her brother falls into some deep pit of despair and finds it aggravating. She corners him one day, telling him that he's letting everything slip away again. That she'll most likely move to the big city and then he'll really be stuck here. Under Styne's ruling and his father's ruling. That he'll never get away and she knows he wants away. He pretends that everything coming from her mouth is nonsense, but he knows that Meg is right. Hael prayed every night to God that Tom would come to her, but he never did. So, finally, she worked up the courage and she came to him. She showed up at the book store, knowing he was working there now, the bell ringing as she walked on inside. Tom's eyes left the book he was holding, looking up and seeing her walking toward him. That silence he once heard in the past washed over him and he felt at peace, seeing her now-short hair flowing in soft curls. The both of them opened their mouths to speak, then chuckled. "You first," they both spoke in sync. There was another moment of silence, before Hael smiled only half heartedly, "You’re home now" Meg couldn't have been happier to see the two of them falling back into their sync, their usual routine. She was getting him back out there and back to enjoying the world. There was a new light about him that was also old - but it was a good light. When the knock comes to the door, she assumes it's her idiot brother - or even ever-so-absent sister - knocking because they locked themselves out, or forgot their keys... but when she opens the doors and sees one of the Styne siblings standing there with a couple other men standing behind him, she furrows her brow. She doesn't know about Tom, about what he's been doing, so she's confused as to why they're looking for him. "You just missed him. Should I tell you stopped by?" "He'll hear from us soon enough." Tom and Hael are sitting lying together in the back of his truck, the stars above them. It's their typical night, something relaxing, and they finally share a proper first kiss - but when Hael kisses him, he gently nudges her back, "I don't want to hurt you." She looks almost amused, her thumb brushing along his jawline, tracing a line to his ear. She knows Tom would never hurt her, so she just kisses him to shut him up. That is, she kisses him until the headlights beam on them and the bright lights cause them both to sit up and see who has joined them for the evening.  He's quick to hop off the truck, telling Hael to stay back. He knows who it is that's showing up. Two other men, plus the driver, get out of the vehicle as Tom walks over. Hael tries to focus in on what's going on, but she can't figure it out, not until she sees the bat appear out of nowhere and connect with Tom's side. When she gets up and runs over to try and help him, one of the men who had been sitting in the back of the car grabs her, holding her back. She's screaming his name as she watches him get his back beaten in, taking in each sharp breath. He can't break, he can't let her see him break. Not to these people. Eldon's looking at Tom, chuckling as he swings the bat around, "It's her, isn't it?" he gestures to Hael with the bat and that riles Tom up, causing him to try and get to his feet. Eldon stops him, shoving him over with his foot, "Please, don't flatter yourself." He steps over to Hael, grabbing her jaw tight, looking into her eyes. "It's nice to finally meet you," she just simply spits in his face. He withdraws his hand, wiping his face off, before backhanding her hard across the face. Her head snaps to the side, but she chuckles, looking back at him. He frowns, "You little bitch, if it weren't for him, I'd kill you right here and now. In fact?" and that's when he pulled the knife out from his back pocket and stuck it in her neck. Tom scrambles over to Hael as she's let go, falling to the ground. He puts his hand on her neck, not even focusing on Eldon leaving his band of merry men, putting his hands to her neck to apply pressure to the wound. There's just so much blood, "Hael, hold on, okay? Just stay with me." He keeps one hand there, pulling out his phone to call for help, but because of the blood on his fingers, his phone isn't registering him touching the screen. He cries out, tossing it across the field they're in, and looks back down at Hael, who is just smiling at him. This is his fault. This is all his fault. He got her killed. "I'm so sorry," he couldn't help himself from saying it, watching as he lost her.And that was it. Hael was gone again.

Bela wasn’t lucky like Dean was. He had an angel to save him. She, on the other hand, had to stay in Hell and rot. She let her anger take over Let it comsume her, and, like Dean, she took up Alastair’s blade. Only she would never be seen as his star pupil. To him, no one would shine quite as bright as his precious Dean, and it made her sick.

When her soul started to twist and contort, she embraced it. She let herself become a demon, and held onto her vicious rage, let it make her stronger. Because the stronger she became, the easier it would be for her to bring down Heaven’s favorite, Alastair’s favorite. To bring down Dean Winchester.

Her dedication and fury inspired leagues of demons and lost souls, and in a few short decades, she had herself a small army of demons willing to follow her out the gates of Hell and bring about her wrath.

She couldn’t go straight for Dean’s throat though. No, she had to strike at his heart first, which meant taking out those who he loved most. Sam was obviously at the top of the list, so she would save him for last. She was both disappointed and amused to hear about how many of Dean’s loved ones had already been killed, one way or another.

Bobby Singer had taken a bullet for the Winchester, the Harvelles blew them selves up back when Lucifer was trying to make a comeback. She heard about someone named Lisa, and Victor, and Benny, and Kevin, and even a time travelling grandfather. All of them dead.

It looked like the only person left that Dean had other than Sam was the angel that carried him out of the pit: some self important bastard named Castiel.

She remembered a number of wards she knew in her human life that supposedly kept angels in or out, but she’d never had confirmation back then that they were real, so she never had a chance to test them, and she would need to do that before she could try to get this Castiel.

She had her followers go out and find an angel, preferably a weak and wounded one, which there were plenty of after someone decided to kick them all out of Heaven.

The one they came back with was named Hael, wearing some young waitress and still recuperating after some rogue fellow angel nearly killed her. Bela finds out, when interrogating Hael, that the angel who tried to kill her was none other than Castiel. It seemed as though some deity out there was smiling upon her.

Bela decided to broker a deal: if Hael taught her which sigils worked against angels and which didn’t, she would help Hael enact revenge on that feathered nuisance.

12 Days of SPN Femslash. Day Three: Snowed In.

When Tasha and Hael wake up in the morning, they discover that the snow fell so heavily the previous night that they won't be able to get out today. Neither of them have ever seen the snow fall quite like this before, and it's still falling. After spending about an hour trying to get out of the house [and letting more snow into the house as opposed to getting themselves out], they call it quits and cave to a day indoors. With a living room sized blanket fort and countless mugs of hot chocolate, they both agree that they'll be able to get through the day without a hitch.  After all, it's a perfect kick start to their holidays.
