I’m not knocking the Star Trek TOS makeup department. They did a fantastic job with Spock’s ears. They look so real, and most of the time you can’t tell where the fake ears end and Leonard Nimoy’s began. But you can tell the makeup department had their off days because other times, they look like this:

Me, to my husband: Did you know that today is the 49th anniversary of the first broadcast of any kind of Star Trek, ever?

Husband: *no response, possibly didn't hear*

4 year old Granddaughter, slightly freaking out: What? WHAT?? What are you saying? What are those words you are saying?

Her eyes were wide, she was jumping up and down and shaking.

No, she wasn't all excited because STAR TREK. Coz even tho I've posted pictures of her wearing my old Spock ears, she doesn't know the words "Star Trek"

Turns out she just had no idea what I was talking about, and that REALLY bugs her.
