Uncomfortable Project

Spoiled Milk

For this project I took pictures of spoiled milk. I chose spoiled milk mainly because of my mother, as she is wildly disturbed by the mere mentioned of rotten milk let alone the sight, and forbid the smell. She has always hated milk because she said once when she was younger she drank milk that was badly spoiled and became disgusted ever since. So based off that childhood trauma. I myself have never really been disgusted with spoiled milk, I mean don’t get me wrong I think it’s gross. Unlike other people I know, the look nor smell bothers me much. I wish I had the foresight to let the milk spoil far more than a week over the expiration date. Ideally I would’ve let it spoil for at least a month! I wanted it to be fully separated, into just the solid and clear liquid (curds and whey) Unfortunately you get to see just ever so slightly solidified milk. I wanted to have many more locations to shoot in but I was running very low on time so most are in my sink or somewhere in my house. Although my locations were only in my house I think that adds to the discomfort. I mean you don’t really bump into spoiled milk on the side of the road, or at least id hope not. I think rotten milk being inside your home is the more uncomfortable place to be, beside being on your own skin. Since I myself don’t find milk gross, I didn’t mind taking the pictures, so I just imagined what would be conventionally perceived as gross, which includes a lot of touching, squeezing, close up, and on objects.

Due to finding my old BNHA Idol AU, I thought I would write a little piece on it as an attempt to say goodbye to it forever.

The Big Idea:

The idea was that the story took place in a no quirk alternate universe where the BNHA characters were JPop Idols. It was to follow Midoriya, a YouTuber who made videos talking about the history and releases of music artists, who unknowingly moved into the apartment complex where young heartthrob Shoto Todoroki and national beauty Yaoyorozu Momo lived in an attempt to avoid paparazzi.

The first arc was basically just shenanigans of Midoriya not realizing he is living next to idols, while Tododeku start to slowly fall in love with each other.

Once the first arc was over it was going to turn from a meet-cute mutual pining slice of life series into a mystery slice of life series where Midoriya kept witnessing scandals (accidentally) which would lead to him discovering a mystery regarding the history of the Idol Industry.

An example of this was Midoriya making friends with critic Siren (Shinsou) only to get caught up into the mystery of the missing Trainee Aizawa Shouta just to learn that the missing trainee was in fact the feared critic Redeye.

Basically every arc was a mystery about the idol Industry and a bunch of secret identies, lost loves, societal pressure, and betrayal.

A music industry soap opera really.

Other Arcs:

A couple other arcs I remember planning is one where Jirou leaves UA Records for Hellfire Studios due to UA Records benching her for the twenith time leading to Momojirou and Midoriya coming to terms that All Might was not the best for the industry.

There is another one where Bakugou joins UA Records and his past getting exposed causing UA Records desperately trying to stamp out the fires that caused while Midoriya has to decide whether or not to come out with his story or not.

There is another featuring Iida, and Midoriya figures out the truth behind the incident that caused Iida's older brother to have to end his idol career early.

Of course I had preplanned other characters as idols but as you can probably tell it never came to light as my brain was basically bouncing around the arcs I previously mentioned.

The Reason I Quit:

The main reason I quit was because it got boring. I couldn't figure out how to weave other characters into it, and while I love writing fluff the series plan sort of demanded I write some constant angst and I am not about the trauma conga.

with naruto ships i’m very lenient. i don’t know. i was able to read naruto and watch it for so long and i managed to just love everyone even though i didn’t appreciate how kishimoto wrote some of the characters from time to time.

naruto is where i started to understand the joys of multishipping.

but bleach? oh no. i can’t multiship there. i don’t even go there anymore. except for ichiruki.
