Yesterday I saw an awesome performance of Spontini's La Vestale. It was staged by a small opera company in the cellar of a small theatre, and it was wonderful. Several times it felt like I was right there, in ancient Rome. Small opera companies might not have the resourses of the big opera houses, but they can create magic ✨
