Okay but like, first U RITE, but re: flipping burgers, I'm not even sure she was talking about Paulo? Like, that's just a thing people say. "You dont want to end up flipping burgers." It's entirely possible that she was digging at him, but honestly when I first read it I thought she was basically saying "at least I'm not a loser tho?" and didn't even register the 'he got a job at burgertron" part. Because not listening/investing is kinda her MO rn, and I'm not sure which is worse??
i think it makes more sense for it to be a combination! mike said that Paulo works at Burgertron in the same conversation, and she’s usually okay at tracking when it’s that recent. definitely the ‘flipping burgers’ thing seems like a parroted view of someone, maybe her mom -- but it also definitely felt like a specific dig at Paulo.
