“There is no greater disability in society than the inability to see a person as more.”— Robert M. Hensel, Guinness World Record holder for the longest non-stop wheelie in a wheelchair who has spina bifida
About me (and let’s be friends 😊)
Hey, y’all! I’m Jenna. I won’t go through my whole story but Reader’s Digest version is that I have congenital hydrocephalus and I’ve had 9 brain surgeries in my life— five of them happened this spring. I also almost went blind this year, but happy update: my vision is no longer in danger! I also have idiopathic intercranial hypertension, according to my neurosurgeon and neuro opthamologist, but they can’t technically give me the diagnosis on the books because I don’t have a normal brain (and I never have) for them to know for certain
I, like every other disabled person, have more to me than my disability. I am a journalism major with a minor in PR. I’m obsessed with movies and have been to a few early screenings. Pelican’s Snoballs are a delicacy, and my blood is probably 67% cotton candy syrup by now. I’m a Christian and I love talking to people about what they believe. I don’t believe blindly and I think evidence for beliefs is necessary. I like reading a lot but don’t get to as much as I’d like with school; if I had my choice, I’d always have my head in a book! Taylor Swift is pretty cool, but you probably already knew that right? I really have a heart for other people, and I like cooking for my friends! Anyway, I’m an open book! Send me asks or hit me up, and let’s be friends! 😊

Love your body even when it doesn't love you back. Going to watch movies and get high all day 💕 not feelin 100
I can't sleep because I'm in so much pain. It's insane to me that a year ago, I was considering giving up being a music major because of my chronic pain. I thought that I would get my diagnosis figured out over the summer and there would be a treatment that would work. Well, it's now a year later, I'm far too invested in music (and love it way too much) to ever give it up and they STILL don't have an accurate diagnosis for me. I've been through incorrect diagnoses and medicines that don't work and I'm just tired and done and don't know how much longer my body can handle this major.
I love singing.
With flute it's all about the pain and I just want to die after every band concert. But with singing it's all about the emotions and music and I feel so happy after every choir concert.
Tim tams and ensure at 1am.
The dinner of champions??
