something that never fails to absolutely INFURIATE ME in hoo and the pjoverse in general is how fucking hugenormous the gods’ ego is
it’s especially incredibly evident in hoo because- a giant can only be killed by a demigod AND a god. working TOGETHER. but every time they fight a. giant the god that is *right there* is like “ooh, you have to prove your worth to me, why should i help you~~-” BECAUSE YOU??? WANT THE GIANTS GONE???? this is not a demigod side quest or smth this is literally the fate of the world???? so why aren’t the gods and demigods going around the world in teams and hunting down giants??? why is it the seven’s problem and they need to not only travel around alone but also to “prove themselves worthy of a god’s help” when THE GODS. WERE THE ONES. WHO ASKED THEM TO DO THIS.
i’m gonna uplift hera again like at least in TLH she was trapped and the second she gets out - bam, giant gone. she cooperates. she pulled this whole thing together actually in spite of the roman/greek thing. so we know it ain’t that that’s stopping the gods.
anyway tl;dr : the gods are sort of forgetting that they are literally REQUIRED to do shit with the heroes if they want the giant war over.
