In my AU, Masaari are all-female species native to Mars. They were once a space empire but lost most of their inventions and culture after the Grox (their empress mostly...) attack and the death of their empress Polaris
(Technically, Polaris is not dead, the Staff of Life is keeping her, well, alive, and she's literally a walking skeleton... also Betelgeuse is her grandson AND A NATURE'S MISTAKE or so his mother calls him)

I WILL ALWAYS COME BACK... AND YOUR SLASHER WIL BE MINE!!! @slashficofficial
I made creatures based on Sams characters in Spore.
It's a silly thing, but I wanted to share it if no one minds.
They all share one distinguishing feature: horns on their heads from the cell stage (Moon has them too, they're just not visible behind those "sails"). Technically, they all emerged from the same head, right? So, it turns out they emerged from the same cell, but developed differently.
I had a really interesting experience with Lunar.
Spore is an old game from the past that DOES NOT have autosave and sometimes crashes. While I was playing on a planet with Lunar, it crashed, and I forgot to save the game. As a result of each crash, the game saved the creature itself in a separate slot, but not my progress on the planet.
So, I have three versions of Lunar. I think it's very symbolic. :)
I tried to make Terra as large as possible. As a result, she practically transcends the editor's scope.
I don't know why Jack's eyes are bloodshot. Creator?
I had a hard time with this "photo shoot" because the game is on my mom's laptop. I had to take screenshots using the on-screen keyboard while the game was in windowed mode. The keyboard didn't work otherwise. I sent the finished photos via Bluetooth to my tablet.
I started writing for this universe! It's called Chamber Influx, and will be posted on my wattpad and archive of our own accounts. The chapters are anticipated to be pretty short by fanfic standards. So I was wondering, would you be interested in seeing me post it here on Tumblr?
But I gotta warn y'all that it's much more 'edgy' than my other AUs, and will be rated E on ao3/marked Mature on Wattpad because of violence, heavy religious themes and uncomfortable sexual scenes (not romanized), and overall leans into horror territory. It's important to know your thoughts on this topic :P.
Would you like to see 'Chamber Influx' on Tumblr?
Yes, please post the fic.
No, I'm uncomfortable with gore/religious themes/noncon/horror genre in general.
I could go so many directions with this. Admittedly I was half asleep when I was rambling about that stuff, but just think of all the shenanigans! I can already imagine Optimus and Megatron having their 1000000th fight and there's so much unresolved sexual tension that when the Prime throws Megatron on the ground and then jumps on top of him to continue the slugfest, a soft cloud of glittering silver and purple mist suddenly puffs up around them. They both stop, frozen, staring at each other in wide eyed horror before scrambling to separate, Optimus trying in vain to brush the spores off because this CANNOT be happening, and Megatron is frozen, mortified, because now his secret is out AND the Prime is probably going to be having his babies 😂
alright i have enough for a proof of concept for this au i thought of like half an hour ago and y'all are gonna hear me out on this whether you like it or NOT
The Spore Galaxy
A grand, gorgeous spiral filled with thousands upon thousands of habitable worlds, wondrous stars, and numerous forms of life.
Long ago, a mysterious force made itself known to the rest of the galaxy. A message, calling out from the belly of the beast itself. A call to action. The call for a successor to the owner of a grand treasure that lies at the very center of everything as we know it. A treasure that, as some would say, has value beyond one's wildest dreams...
So, who will find it first?
(more under the cut)
World Details
Calmer Regions/"The Blues"
The outer edges of the galaxy. Planets and star systems fall into a rather homogenous assortment of types and sizes, with the average rates of habitability. Not much happens around these parts in terms of major events, though it is supposedly the birthplace of whoever--or whatever--had originally called out all that time ago.
Every now and then, ships of the enigmatic race known as the Grox will appear, and assert their authority on various inhabited planets in the area. In areas where they have the most power, they have situated bases where they take in whomever has been deemed a criminal, and punish them in a display of "justice". But regardless of their strength here, they're still well out of their element, and they're quite easily knocked down by any pirate whose will is strong enough, or perhaps even a swordsman of some sort...
"Calm" Belt
This is a largely uninhabited region of space in the galaxy. Traversing this area requires great amounts of care and precision--that is, if you don't starve or break down here first. In the Calm Belt, nobody can hear you scream or call for help, and there's nobody within light years to come help if you happen to run into some problems.
However, for the truly daring, there are ways to completely bypass this region of space. There are several wormholes dotted around the exterior that are a quick and easy shortcut to the Grand Line, but they still require a great amount of skill and maneuvering ability if one plans to come out the other end whole. All together. One might even say in One... Chunk.
Paradise
The first half of the Grand Line. The habitability rate of planets soars up once more, but there are numerous other threats to spaceships passing through that crop up. Asteroids, protostars, and other things of the sort are hazards, albeit easily avoidable with some decent piloting. The planets here, as well as the civilizations that spawn from them, have a strange, fantastical aspect to them that makes them seem almost dreamlike when compared to the planets in the Blues.
Powerful empires and terrifying forces lurk in this area, and in much greater numbers than the Blues. Stronger pirates patrol the star systems, the Grox attempt to make their moves on other worlds, and while there's no shortage of planets to stop off at to restock, the greatest danger you will face in this area may very well be the sentient lifeforms you encounter there.
The Red Line
The Red Line is the ultimate test of strength and will for those who wish to cross it. It's a dangerous zone that's better off being navigated around and avoided altogether, as trudging through it has a lower survival rate than if one were to simply ram their ship into a giant wall, or crash land on a T-0 planet. The Grox are densely packed here, snuffing out any other potentially intelligent civilizations with operational bases located on every other planet, as well as their largest base, which isn't too far from the border to...
New Worlds
After the base four that is the Red Line, this zone is the home stretch. This is where the heart of the Grox Empire is located, meaning that any sovereign worlds and empires have to fight for their life to exist. The non-Grox civilizations that dwell here are a far cry from the ones seen in Paradise, with pirates running amock and very little actual competent authority to speak of aside from those usurped by the strongest of pirates. It also just so happens that the civilizations who have survived the Grox pave a sort of thin path from each of the spiral arms that reach towards a single common point--the very point that all the pirates, the Grox, and anyone else whose hearts are set on adventure and freedom are intent on reaching...
The Center
It's not well known what occured here that resulted in the first signal being sent out, but what is known is that whoever did send it out is likely still within, waiting for whoever has braved the worst the galaxy threw at them and has proven themselves to be worthy of such a magnificent yield.
There's still a massive number of mysteries in this galaxy waiting for someone to solve them, such as who the person at the center of the galaxy is, or how the Grox rose to power, or what the deal is with the strange fruits that can rarely be found on lush worlds, but there's one that lies within the minds of everyone:
With the treasure that lies beyond the veil of the galactic core, who will become the next King of the Galaxy?
