christianity, come fix the problems that you caused.

you, famed for changing the hearts of the oppressors. where the fuck have you gone? what have you done, was it just temporary?

or did you pave the way for the rich and carelessly privileged to use your power for their own gain, then leave you behind?

was it you who turned what should have been acceptance into shame into judgement into dehumanisation, and left a class of people with no way to get through to them, bent on stripping the power of others?

half the point of you, is that we don't know how bad it is when we're doing it. we don't realise the pain we're causing when it's normalised. when everyone behaves like that.

there's an old song that goes oh heart of Christ, once broken for us, 'tis there we find our strength and rest. our broken, contrite hearts now solace, and let your waiting church be blessed.

where is the contrite repentance you're supposed to bring? why are the broken hearts coming from people who don't have the power to change things? you promised us self awareness and security and change. where did we all go wrong??

The kindest souls I know have lived in a world that wasn’t so kind to them. The best human beings I know, have been through so much at the hands of others, and they still love deeply, they still care. Sometimes, it’s the people who have been hurt the most, who refuse to be hardened in this world, because they never want to make another person feel the same way they themselves have felt. If that’s not something to be awe of, I don’t know what is.
