Synfulwitchcraft’s 30 Day Spread Challenge
I have taken several questions from beginning diviners over the last year or so about what advice I had for learning tarot. My number one tip has remained the same throughout: @arcanemysteries and @firebornalchemy (previously ragabashwitch) #SpreadADay Challenge got me off to a wonderful start. It connected me with other diviners in the community- beginners and experienced readers- and provided me with a way to practice a bunch of different approaches to my reading in order to find (and eventually perfect) my own style of divination. The problem? There doesn’t seem to be any more of these challenges that are active, and half of the fun (and motivation) was knowing others were doing this with me.
So I have come up with a solution: I am going to run my own 30 Day Spread Challenge for anyone who would like to participate. The more the merrier! Hell, maybe I will even up the incentive by offering a prize at the end for a random winner chosen from those who completed all 30 days? We will revisit that plan later on if this gathers a decent following.
This is a great opportunity for beginners to get their hands on their deck(s) daily and attune themselves to the art of reading tarot.
This is also a perfect opportunity for advanced readers to learn a new deck, or practice some new spreads instead of being stuck in a rut with the same old thing.
No matter your experience, this puts you in touch with the divining community which is an invaluable experience in and of itself (in my opinion).
So what does this challenge entail?
1. Find the daily spread on my blog @synfulwitchcraft or by using #synschallenge and complete your daily reading from December 26th, 2016 through January 24th, 2017.
2. You can use any divination tool that makes sense for the spread (tarot, oracle, runes, etc.)
3. Tag your readings with #synschallenge so others can follow your progress (and you can see theirs, too!)
4. Consider offering free readings in exchange for feedback… it gets boring doing 30 spreads all for yourself, and feedback from others is part of why this experience was so helpful for me back when I was beginning!
5. Feel free to mix it up with different divination tools daily, you don’t have to stick with the same deck throughout the challenge (but you can!)
6. Pictures are not required for your posts, but they do make this experience more interactive and enjoyable for all involved (plus some of us really like to deck-lust over different cards!)
7. Miss a day? NO BIG DEAL! Skip it, play catch up, WHATEVER! This is not about stress, this is about community and fun!
Any other questions? Please do not hesitate to contact me. Hope to see you there! :)
