It was late and raining, the window was open, Pride simply took the opportunity to get dry and warm. No one was inside from what he could tell, making his way into the bathroom quickly and grabbing a towel in the attempt to dry his waterlogged hair. A puddle was slowly forming at his feet from that and the jacket covered in small droplets of water. His eyes glanced at the doorway again, just to be sure. Still no one there. Maybe the room really was empty.
He shrugged his jacket off and hung it over the edge of the door to try and dry off before huddling against the far wall. Towel still over his head, draped over his shoulders as his skin continued to cool. Maybe the storm would pass while he was inside. Curling up a bit tighter, Pride pulled the towel down over his shoulders instead in the attempt to get warm, ignoring the hair sticking to his face.
(Hello Wrath mun! I was reading your 'about you' section and as a huuuuge tattoo nerd, I just wanted to say that foot tattoos are a bad idea. It will wear off because of how rapidly the skin on your foot is eroded off and regrown. Same goes for the palm. I jsut don't want to see anyone waste money on a tattoo that will melt away pretty fast. ORZ)
[ Hey! Thank you for messaging me! And don’t even worry I’m not offended at all. Honestly I’d be getting it for sentimental value over all even with the knowledge that it probably wouldn’t last me long, and could be completely okay with that. This aside my skin doesn’t let go of ink at all, which is why I’m a little less apprehensive to get it there. My feet are always protected in some way and never often beaten up on the bottoms because of my sedentary job. I really appreciate your concern though, and I know why you’re warning me, I’ve done some research of my own on the idea and it’s a really slim 50/50 that I’m just foolhardy enough to take. XD please send me more messages in the future though I am such a bored mun. Not much demand for 2003 Wrath’s anymore. :/ ]
Why the Hell Maps Don’t Point NORTH
spreadward Distance in Amestris
Listen, I’m glad you did because I have a HUGE interest in the geography of the FMA world so I eat this shit up okay?)
Haha, well let me hit you with more then.
What I find really odd now that I’m looking at the map again is that it doesn’t point towards the true NORTH? It’s at a tilt, which seems really odd for someone used to seeing maps pointing true north all the time.
From looking at THIS map as well, it’s fair to assume that ALL (or a good portion) of maps are configured this way. What I had at first assume was a LAKE could be the north pole (although why there’s a random strip of DESERT is beyond me at the moment. I would assume there’s a mountain range on one or both of the borders, honestly.)
One thing I can think of off the top of my head to explain that is the STARS. Since this IS a fictional world, it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to believe that the constellations are different and thus the guiding star (ours being Polaris, the North star) would have vastly different positions. Perhaps there is no north star in the FMA world and they use different stars to guide them at night.
It’s also fair to assume that their magnetic north is different from geographic north to such a degree that it would require maps that are configured differently.
Of course this could all just be a stylistic choice, but maps were made to be USED and an ACCURATE and easily followed map is far more useful than a stylistic one.
