Bird song is increasing as the days lengthen. This was yesterday morning at the park. Further along I heard phoebes and red-winged blackbirds and 4 kinds of woodpeckers, plus more. Birds are pairing off and setting up housekeeping.

While it is spring here. It is a little like a autumn. Autumn - it is amazing event, because of yellow leaves. And now in spring.  And now it is spring. Such leaves, you can also see at the streets. At the trees, at the road. So, you can think it is a cold autumn day. With yellow leaves and blue sky. It is happening such weather in autumn. When it is fresh and cold a little.

Theme of leaves are interesting for me, for some time. So, leaves they are at first at the trees. And you think about them as a part of a tree, they are a tree, something like standalone tree. And when it is autumn starting. And leaves to fall. And now, leaves are already a standalone object. They are making a standalone event. They are at the ground. They are at the trees. And they make influence a lot on the visual side of the street, forest, city. They start to make influence a lot. It is autumn.

It is a cycle of leaves in nature. And in spring they are still at their place. Just from a winter time. And now, it is anyway, it is a spring. And they are our autumns guests. Which spent winter fine. And lay down. Such a yellow.

Spring is starting

As a flower who awakens from its long winter slumber, I'll most likely experience a mix of confusion and excitement. Emerging from the darkness, I'll feel the warmth of the sun on my petals, signaling the arrival of spring. My roots stir with anticipation, drawing in nutrients from the soil to replenish my energy after months of dormancy. I'll stretch my petals, feeling a sense of liberation as I unfurl to greet the world once again.

The vibrant colors around me fill it with wonder and joy as it marvels at the beauty of the other flowers awakening alongside it. I may feel a little sleepy, adjusting to the new season and the flurry of activity that comes with it. Overall, I feel forever grateful for the opportunity to bloom once more, ready to embrace the sunshine and soak in the experiences that springtime brings. It's a time of renewal and growth, and I'm eager to embrace it fully.

Vernal/Spring Equinox

Spring begins on the March or vernal equinox, which is when the amount of sunshine is approximately 12 hours long.  

The amount of sunlight will incrementally increase until the first day of Summer. The vernal equinox marks the moment the Sun crosses the celestial equator. This is the imaginary line in the sky above the Earth’s equator, from south to north. The time the sun crosses the equator marking the Vernal Equinox is different for each time zone.

HOW TO OBSERVE

Get ready for longer days and increased sunshine. Tune up the lawn mower. More sunshine means the grass will be growing.

HISTORY

Human beings have been following the sun and creating a calendar based on seasons since the beginning of time.  This year spring arrives a little earlier due to it being a leap year.  You might remember back on Leap Day a little math lesson regarding the Gregorian calendar.  To keep our calendar following the seasons so that spring happens when flowers grow and winter arrives when snow falls, an additional day was figured into years divisible by the number four. However, that is a bit of an over-adjustment.  

To correct it, years also evenly divisible by 100 but not 400 are skipped.  

For example, in 1700, 1800 and 1900 there were no leap days added.  In the year 2000, a leap year was added to the first century year with a leap year since 1600.  Consider that Galileo was at the height of his scientific career, Shakespeare was nearing the end of his and Queen Elizabeth I would die three years later. This has caused this spring to occur earlier than any living human being alive has every seen.  Before this year, the earliest spring on record took place in 1896.
