Day 5: African (including Egypt) Deity
Geb is the Egyptian personification of the Earth, separated forever from Nut, the sky, by Shu, the air. He is the father of Osiris, Isis and Set and the grandfather of Horus. As the Earth, Geb can either be the barren desert or the fertile fields. He was also known as the Father of Snakes and was often depicted with green patches on his body to represent vegetation growing out of the earth.
