The truth and light being so deeply tied to christian imagery is a very western thing and I think we're not as immune to it as we'd like to be

Even I do it. My scholar-paladin dragon is from light flight, inspired by fantasy tropes that again take the concept from christianity. But FR never really advertised light that way, imo, so I'm taken back by how many people think it should be flowing feather wings and elegant twisty beasts at all times.

That might just be the nature of having a site with very basic lore, purposefully done so so we can make whatever we want. But that means the devs can too, y'know.

I love that my flight and my sister flight have bug dragons.

I'll be collecting lore posts like delicious eggs. I'm hoping to find some goons I could maybe use as cameos for my traveling band of adventurers

It'd be cool, I think, to mention 'legendary figures' or clans that are good pitstops that actually belong to players. I'm especially interested if your clan has bounty/task boards

Message for Lore Writers

So my last lore post showed up. What did I do different this time?

So when I write lore, I write it in a different document. I then copy/paste it into wherever it is I wanted to post it and save the document into a folder in my computer or phone. Nice and organized, and keeps all my stuff within reach offline

So if your lore post isn't showing up, here are some reasons that might be why

- HAS A LINK: we all know this one. Tumblr hates text links, and will vanish you from tags and the reblog section on posts. Plain links seem to work off and on, but it's usually best not to use them

- READ MORE: For some reason, Tumblr will not put your post in a tag if it has a read more. This is not always the case though, but the criteria for why it does and does not work has no obvious rhyme or reason to work around. Could have something to do with asks not being seen as spam if you use the read more for asks

- COPY/PASTE WALLS OF TEXTS: And as I now find out, Tumblr also hates this. This is probably meant to attack spam bots who automatically copy/paste their obnoxious ads, but this now means if you write in another program... Well, it won't work. You will not appear in tags. This may not always be the case, but we all know Tumblr applies it's rules unequally, so it's better to be cautious.

This is my PSA to lore writers. I might come around and make a nicer looking one, especially when I gather more data, but this is what I have for now.

Boxed my fathoms so this is what I'm thinking for the double obsidian. The reds are all different but look really good together

I'll admit I'm super nervous with deciding what to do with this xxy, as double/triple obsidians are among those coveted gen 1s. I've never felt this way before about getting a dragon, but just this once I worry about being judged on what I decide. I like a WC/Skydancer/coatl in a pretty skin as much as anyone else (and have several), but I've all-sorts of tastes to go along with it

Since my band of adventurers probably will visit a lot of lands and lairs, I'd love to hear people's lore on their own lairs

Are they open to visitors, where are they, what they look like and what they export if at all. That kinda stuff
