Hi! I love your cross stitch and embroidery patterns but I have no experience in actually doing my own embroidery so I was wondering if you knew any good materials and beginner site I can go to, to effectively learn how to cross stitch and embroider.

As for starting, I started with purchasing some aida fabric and a few colors of floss, and then looking for some free, single color pieces. This was my first ever piece. 

The Sprite Stitch Forums were a godsend to me because it fit my interests so well. There are others on facebook, and reddit as well. YouTube has an entire genre of cross stitch tutorials called FlossTube, and can be an excellent resource.

Sailor Senshi pattern

I'm not sure if I already linked the pattern in a wip post, so a separate post just for it since I've had public and private queries on it (and then maybe I can find it for any future questions, haha). I found the Sailor Senshi group pattern, that's on brief hiatus until I manage a trip out, on the Sprite Stitch forums. Here you guys go:

Not only are there an unholy amount of beautiful patterns, tons of total nerds, a plethora of talented people who want to help you, they are some of the nicest and most supportive people I have ever found in my life, let alone on the internet. No matter what’s going on in your life, there’s always someone who knows what advice will be the best thing that you need to hear, and it’s one of my favorite places on this world wide web
