“Thunder only happens when it's rainin’ / Players only love you when they're playin’ / Say women they will come and they will go / When the rain washes you clean, you'll know, you will know...”
It was the late afternoon when Ash had gotten out early from her classes at the college. The weather was fair and there was little to do at the house, so she’d elected to spend her spare time at the boardwalk. Seated on a vacant bench, she was playing a round of acoustic songs on her guitar, her case left open on the ground for any passersby who were willing to tip. It was something she’ done often in Seattle to help out her father -- something she was still willing to do to help him out, even though he was stuck on the opposite coast of the country. Fleetwood Mac was one of his favorite bands, so much so that some of their songs had become Aislin’s childhood lullabies. Playing the all too familiar chords and singing the same words that had once lulled her to a worriless sleep just felt... right.
“Holy shit, this is the cutest little puppy ever! Is it yours? If you say no, I’ll kidnap it— just a heads up.”
“I swear to god, I’m never going to the gym with you again. This has got the be the worst idea ever— next time, let’s just go swimming... in scotch and beer, if you feel me.”
Kathleen was walking around the town on her own, thinking about walking into the cafe for a well deserved coffee. She’d just gotten done visiting with the bank to switch over her accounts and re-establish herself in the town. She’d also discussed how much it would take to start up her old advertising business again. With the estimated figures in her head, the woman had to start finding old and new clients again if she was going to make this work. Sighing to herself, she walked into the cafe, got herself a coffee, and sat down at a table to look over the figures again. She could feel a pair of eyes on her as she worked. “You know, if you wanted to sit down or have a chat that would make me feel better than the way you’re looking at me right now.” she said, not even looking up from her papers.
“I’m just saying, it wouldn’t have been the worst thing if I’d gotten my pants down so you “saving me” last night doesn’t warrant a thank you as far as I’m concerned”
I’m sad I missed summer week, but the tourist season could be just as fun?
“Do you ever get that urge to mercilessly strangle someone? Because I do. Some people can just be so stupid. Like, how did they even get to college and why am I the one that’s stuck being their freaking lab partner?”
