Buffy is so funny sometimes like she makes me cackle because what do you mean your mortal enemy vampire guy can just come in to your bedroom in the middle of the night while you’re in bed naked and you just talk to him…

you talk to him and then when he asks you to go somewhere with him you AGREE (??) and make him turn around while you get dressed

NOT EXIT THE ROOM AND HOUSE but just turn around yeah good pet vampire he’s not gonna look and he can just stand there yk bit of company while I put my clothes on

and all that time, all that stuff with her literally knowing he can come in any time be it to stalk her or her family or steal stuff or idk what a silly thought kill them

she doesn’t revoke the invite, doesn’t even bother doesn’t even care

and the only time she DOES care is when she knows he has feelings for her, when it’s obvious now he doesn’t kill her cause he loves her

he could come in any time, put poison in their drinks idk set the house on fire, leave the gas stove on

THERE’S SO MANY WAYS TO KILL SOMEONE like cmon or at least harm them

it’s just hilarious how she really didn’t care about him being evil and didn’t take it seriously but as soon as she finds out he has a crush on her oh boy NOW she’s scared of the big bad Spikey

Spuffy babies rant

So Spuffy babies bother me A LOT and after thinking about it for months on end I can finally formulate why. Two main reasons, really.

1. Adoption is a thing. Adopted kids are real kids.

So whenever someone wants Spuffy to have a baby, for some reason it always, ALWAYS has to be a biological child. Despite the fact that Spike, as a vampire, is sterile. An author usually goes to great lengths and jumps through lots of hoops just to make Spike un-sterile (which is questionable all on its own). All the while passive-agressively broadcasting the stereotype that only biological kids are real kids. Fuck that.

2. Choice.

Now because making Spike fertile has been most likely done to Spike behind Spike's (and Buffy's) back, meaning without his knowledge or consent, neither he nor Buffy are in any position to even think of the repercussions (or discuss if they actually want any kids at all). And most of the time (even in those rare cases when the characters are aware of the possibility) Buffy's pregnancy is a SURPRISE. And she always goes through with it. If the option of abortion is ever brought up, it is always discarded no matter how hard, inconvenient or even life-threatening the pregnancy is to Buffy. Even if she's in the middle of an apocalypse, the surprise miracle fetus comes first despite the very real risks to Buffy's life. Now that just stinks of pro-life logic and it makes me sick.

I don't really wanna go in-depth about how this surprise pregnancy is sometimes used to bring Buffy and Spike together as a couple because that's just disheartening. Taking away a character's right to their own body as a tool to force a ship is disgusting (and plain unimaginative) in my book.

The moral of the rant. If you're giving Spuffy a baby please examine why you're doing it and why you're doing it the way you're doing it.

And if you absolutely have to have your bio baby pro-life crap fix? TAG. IT.

Please don't make this kinder surprise plot device jump out unannounced in the middle of the fucking story!
