[A snippet from my AU where Jack dies of natural causes, and Maddie marries Vlad]

"We can get you any car you'd like, Danny my boy. Money is no object."

  Vlad remembered himself saying it to his stepson, his voice dripping with satisfaction. The boy was finally asking him for something! Finally, the billions of dollars Vlad had accumulated were good for something.

  At fifteen and a half years old, Danny was given his driver's learning permit.

  And a Ferrari.

  It went about as well as anyone with more than two braincells to rub together would expect. Vlad cursed himself for being so idiotic. He'd just been so damned happy to finally be able to give one of the Fentons something they wanted.

  The only upside was that Daniel had wrecked the car so quickly that he hadn't yet left the mansion's grounds, having plowed the car into the tree near the gated entrance. So, since it was on their own property the incident didn't have to be reported to the police, which would have had Danny losing his permit automatically.

  "You can get me another one, right Unkie Vlad?" a dazed Danny asked, one arm around his stepfather's waist as they walked back to the mansion.

  "If your mother doesn't kill me first, sure." Vlad muttered.

It would have been better. Maddie and Jack just are not compatible. The writers behind Masters of All Time have been on my shit list for YEARS. You know very well if they were married it would not have been like that! They could have been the loves of each others lives, if Maddie would give him the chance. I know he’d be good to her and he’d love her children, Danny and Jazz as his own.

I've seen some noise in the Maddie Fenton tag about her and Vlad being soul mates and honestly I want to know everything there is to know about that idea Hmu if you're about it too

I do wonder what would happen if Vlad got his way. Maybe Jack dies of totally natural causes (heart attack, Fenton RV wreck) and Maddie decided to marry him.

I don't think she's traditional enough to marry him because "the kids need a father in the house" or because she can't handle being alone. She probably just needs the money.

After all, one inventor can't turn out as many inventions as two, and there's probably debts to pay, the kids' college education funds to keep up, medical bills, funeral expenses.

I don't think she'd lie to Vlad about her motives for saying yes either. He'd probably just be glad his money could "buy" her in some way, and of course she'll fall in real love with him later because he's just such a great guy, right?!

I just kind of want to see Vlad getting everything he wants (Jack dead, Maddie his wife, Danny and Jazz his children) and realizing that no, it didn't solve all his problems or make him happy. A Pyrric victory.

He'd learn marriage isn't easy or perfect, Maddie isn't perfect, and having to raise two teenagers is more complicated than just buying them everything they want.

The real question would be whether he's capable of realizing he needs to work on himself to be happy, or if he'd double-down and get some new external goal that's supposed to Solve Everything once he gets it.
