Another AU of an AU SNAP “Sputter”- this one goes by her technical legal name which is “Chatter” and is known as “Godking Junior” in my spreadsheet. Due to a wacky accident Chatter wound up being adopted by the Grand Architect and is… the loneliest princess.

TFA Sputter!

This is her Cybertron color palate and shape from waaaaaaaay before the beginning of the show. Back when the “Protectobots” were still filtering out information and long range space bridge technology had yet to take off. Friends with some troublemakers and upstarts and minor bane of the government- compared to those she associates with anyway.

Her unique spark based abilities involve the manifestation of objects and tools from various locations into her hands through a transwarp matrix. She can’t transport cybertronians or pure energy though…at least not without major consequences.

Thinking about IDW Sputter(s) recently so im gonna jot down some notes here since my new blog is mainly just for art.

There are two main Sputter timeline forks

Sputter A: Sputter follows her dear friend Fortress Maximus to Elba as a medic and (self appointed) prisoner caretaker of Garrus 9. She survives the first major jailbreak (shockwave, ravage etc) due to a buildup of good rapport and good luck. When Overlord takes over, he has her tend to the gladiators to keep them viable for battle- until he decides to throw her in the ring to see what will happen. Things snowball from there and there are two versions of this timeline. I’m fond of both. She winds up on the Lost Light as a medic/custodian in I think both versions but one is more developed past this point than the other. In the second version, she carries two newsparks for Overlord as part of essentially a political marriage that saves the lives of three autobots: including Fort Max

Sputter B: Before Max is given the G9 assignment, Sputter (through sheer bad luck) uncovers the truth about the Carpessa bombing and defects from the Autobots with the intent of bringing this to light. She’s tracked down by Getaway who has been ordered by Prowl to quietly dispose of her. For personal reasons, he chooses to wipe her memory and dump/strand her in a distant system instead of actually assassinate her. She gets picked up by sympathetic neutrals and gets a job as a unionized escort on the planet Thaumus 11 in order to provide for her new community of defectors, refugees, and general expats.

There are 2 versions of this timeline: one where she has a child with a consistent, highly appreciated client (and an eldritch/ethereal entity) and said child is who joins the LL expedition, and one without said kid. In this one she establishes an office/branch of her union on the LL which helps everyone’s morale except Getaway’s and gives the crew some very powerful , unexpected allies.

Imagine you’re in the middle of sewing the seeds of mutiny and seducing someone into being a sacrificial lamb and then suddenly out of Nowhere your amnesiac (your fault) MOM (but OF COURSE she still remembers she’s your mom somehow! >:() shows up. Pulls up with her carpet bag and old people candy and immediately clocks that you’re up to something because said sacrificial lamb is “not your type” and declares this In Public and you’re just lucky the guy just so happened to not understand or refuse to understand what she meant.

🔥What’s a surefire way to make your OC get flustered?

Technically this is IDW Bluebird here but it goes for all her iterations! Positive comments on her appearance are even worse. Genuine ones anyway- and since her inability to regulate EM field feedback means she can feel the emotions of the person paying the compliment it’s hard to keep her cool.

Also means that being around particularly horny or, worse, gooshy lovestruck people is. Difficult.

Meanwhile Sputter

Is actually pretty immune to flusterment! Except in emotionally charged intimate situations, but even then it takes work to get under her skin.

Note: Some SNAP!Sputter iterations are quite a bit less immune especially when they grow into adults- but those Sputters are also technically Chatters (another oc/the one holding the sign) so there are more cracks in her armor.

😍 What does your OC find irresistible in others?

Bluebird historically, and in p much all iterations, has a major weakness for pretty pink jets. But also cute smaller bots. But also hot femme fatale types sometimes. But also-

Genuine, joyful, kinda dumb, and generally trying their best are all very attractive things to her as well as outside appearances. As is cool sword. Cool sword big one.

Sputter, while waaaaaay more casual with relationships and physical intimacy than Bluebird… really doesn’t have a solid rule of attraction? If human she’d definitely be on the ace spectrum but very much interface neutral. The most I can say is she’s definitely a size queen but that’s kinda par for course when you’re a minibot.
