6. What languages do they speak? Do they have any idiosyncrasies or identifiable patterns of speech, word usages, etc?
Sera is fluent in both Korean and English, sans accent nor trouble in each, and she speaks strong French and Japanese.
As for Korean, it’s due to having Korean parents who actually paid attention that she appropriately picked up their mother tongue.
And as for English, it’s because she’s been in international schools her entire life with English being the main language of instruction, plus she has years of immersion under her belt as the majority of the decade she spent outside of Korea was in anglophone countries.
She has strong French due to taking it as her “second” language in school, and her mother expecting only the best from her, ensured she had enough private tutoring for her French to be sufficient, (+she did spend some time in francophone settings.
The last assignment her mother had while Sera was still living with her was in Japan, so by default, she started to learn the language. She has a minimum of a year and a half of continuous immersion, (and nearly full-time Japanese education with her being the obsessive workaholic she is.)
That being said, one thing you should know about Sera is that she has an intensive database of useful and seemingly pointless pieces of info stored in her head, and she is a very fast learner. She is familiar with other languages, especially those of Latin descendance, such as Spanish and Italian, and she has an idea about how Greek functions, as well as some Germanic languages after she had developed a keen interest in Old English. However with these languages, while she might get the gist of what is being said, she would not be able to communicate at a comprehensible level.
In terms of idiosyncrasies, she doesn’t have anything specific. Although she is prone to reciting quotes from memory that do befit a situation.
19. What is their favorite texture?
I thought a lot about how to answer this, and I just kept coming up of textures she disliked rather than textures she liked. So until I come up with what she likes, here’s what she dislikes: velvet (the fabric), most wool sweaters, dust, chalk, or anything powdery.
30. Do they have any allergies or chronic conditions?
She’s actually pretty healthy, so no allergies or illnesses, but insomnia might be a chronic condition of hers, mainly cause she thinks a lot, always analyzing or reviewing something, so that keeps her up longer than it should. It’s a temperamental condition though; there more often than not, but not always.
