So, after 12 years, I took a crack at it-I designed a Spynder fankid. I had in mind my "Evil Married Couple" AU when designing it, with the idea that Spyro and Cynder would eventually succumb to their Aether Blight, withdraw from dragon society, and become evil overlords somewhere in the distant wilds. And you know, have super-powerful children who all had dark elements due to extreme exposure to Dark Aether. I like the idea of Dark Aether contamination and Cynder's markings being hereditary because corruption markings and edgy color schemes are pretty. This kid could also be from a version of the Evil Married Couple AU where Spyro and Cynder are king and queen while slowly succumbing to Aether Blight. So, this kid is named after Alecto, one of the Erinyes from Greek Mythology. Her name means "endless anger" and this kid has that in spades. She was intended to have an autumnal color scheme, but over time the frills of Ignitus and the red and black gradient of her granddam Schade crept in. Her tail blade isn't artificial, it's just shiny. I really like her copper-colored horns and her red and brown color scheme-it reminds me of dried blood. I think Alecto would be obsessed with justice in a twisted way, focused on punishing evildoers rather than making anyone's lives better. Also, I tried a different approach to dragon armor similar to TeamWings's approach to dragon armor, and I really like it. It's so much easier to draw.

This is an old doodle based on a half-formed idea that the DOTD confession was less an love one and more of bedside one, it was meant to be kinda a 'seconds before disaster' scene where Cynder had assumed Spyro didn't hear her and decided to pretend she never said it so she doesn't have to unpack anything because processing/communicating emotions is WAY out of her comfort zone. I still really like how it turned out so I decided to post it.

I accidentally made myself like Spycyn by deciding that Cynder thinking the world blowing up is the perfect time for a love confession is funny as hell, only rivaled by Spyro finding this completely acceptable and I think Cynder should be rewarded for doing less than the bare minimum.

“BOW BEFORE UNENDING NIGHT”.

Megaera, shadow dragon, and daughter of Dark Lords Spyro and Cynder in the Evil Married Couple AU, depending on how the timelines shake out. This little dragoness has been very hard to pin down, not to mention that the post-it note that I drew and colored her on was accidentally ruined by a silver sharpie pen, rendering it unsalvageable. Megaera often resembles a creepy victorian child more than a dragon whelpling, and would like to be wise beyond her years. Unfortunately, she's also a know-it-all obsessed with the occult and things beyond mortal ken, and is not as smart as she thinks she is. She is VERY excited for the upcoming Night of Eternal Darkness in a few decades, to the discomfort of her parents. She resembles her granddam Schade, and the two are close.

So, I decided to make some Spynder fankids based off the dark elements (and possibly the Furies or the Weird Sisters from Macbeth). Alecto, who you've met, is a Fear dragon, Tisiphone is a Poison dragon based off a coral snake, and over there in the corner, that shadowy thing is Megara a Shadow dragon. In the Evil Married Couple AU, if I decide to have Spyro and Cynder have children, these little monsters will terrorize the world when they're older. But for now they're just cute.
