hi this is sally and oh god, i’m screaming, so much love, ty anons, you are all gorgeous ♥
I love your Arcadia fic!I have a question though, is Regina human? Because you mentioned something about her giving her back to the human world!
Thanks anon! I hope to have next part prepared in a few days ;)And about the question… The idea is that Regina, as well as the other fae, was more or less forced to give her back to the mortal world after the treaty was done. In following parts I will explain the treaty better. It’s one of the things I thought was going to be merely a couple of sentences on last part’s scene and well, here we are xD It’s implied that Regina has some connection with humans, yeah, but as for the straightforward answer I’m afraid you will need to wait ;)
A way of explaining it, however, is to take Regina as Titania from “Midsummer…” Fairies can be small or human-size but the Queen tends to always be human sized. (Most of the time, historically I believe Titania tended to be played by young boys if my memory on my classnotes is correct) in my particular take of folklore in general I wanted to put in there the idea of magic being something that’s slowly trickling away and so power is somehow relegated only to a few people. Hence the dust that covers the tree that’s the castle of Regina, fed by thousands of already dead fairies or the fact that the Wild Hunt doesn’t answer to her anymore so she is the one closest to look like human but with some otherworldiness to it because, well, she is not mortal.
