the wicked wonderland trailer dropped yesterday ! i have many a thought
literally haven't stopped rewatching it, and i've gone frame-by-frame like three times, i'm too attached already
"i finally got the mom, sister, and friend i always wanted" the way that was so obviously spliced together omg (the actual line is probably just "i finally got the mom i always wanted")
can they let charming be happy with his wife for more than five seconds ??? please ???
hazel and felix's character designs are so slay (is it still 'design' when they're live action ?)
stop trying to make strongheart happen (i know it was filmed already)
^did NOT appreciate that snippet of them dancing together because AGAIN, we don't have TIME for this (nothing against the characters or actors btw)
i swear to god, if all the smee twins's lines are in unison...
i don't know why but i thought kiara's voice was a lot higher than it seems to be (she also sounded scarily like dara reneé when she said "good hair")
i wonder if evil chloe will be an end-of-the-movie thing or if she's somehow in this new timeline already...
stop trying to make chessy happen (again, i know it's already been filmed)
"do you have a brain or are you just one big bicep?" i love hazel already
don't play with me movie, i WILL ship robbie and felix for that teacup scene alone
the "welcome to my wonderland" song sounded really good !
^it has the same "woohoo" sound that plays when the characters are falling through the rabbit hole (???) and "mad" was repeating and echoing during that as well so is that all from the song, mad ??? (i know it got released yesterday too but i'm NOT listening to it)
glassheart nation, it's so over (possibly) ! however...bridgella nation, we up !
anyone else pick up on some vibes between hazel and chloe ???
a little confused why hazel's hook is like a ring and why she just holds it instead of wearing it like harry (i kinda like how her hook looks though so it doesn't really matter)
i love how zavien hits that drop move during the chess board scene
"be careful who you trust" very curious who hazel is 1. talking to and 2. alluding to cause the cut in the trailer makes it seem like she's speaking to chloe but the backgrounds are entirely different so i doubt it

Chevalier: From a nickname derived from French chevalier meaning "knight", from Late Latin caballarius "horseman", Latin caballus "horse".

Brainy: Intelligent; smart.

Chad: From the Old English name Ceadda, which is of unknown meaning, possibly based on Old Welsh cat "battle".

- Chad's middle name is in honor of their friend, King Adam (Beast).
- Tremaine is Cinderella's family name (which I wasn't gonna do just on a technical sense, but decided to in the end for More Family Drama.)
- Charmant is Charmings' official surname, but literally everyone refers to the family as "Charming," except on legal paperwork.

Grimm: From a nickname for a stern person, derived from Old High German grim "stern, severe, angry".
Notes:
- Her title of "lady" was given to her by Queen Snow White. As the Evil "Queen" was stripped of her title, and she's not related to any other royalty, Evie can't technically be considered a princess. So, she was gifted a small piece of land in Charmington, and given a ladyship.
- Her surname is a reference to the Brothers Grimm, who collected the fairytale Snow White.

Li: From Chinese, 力 (lì) meaning "power, capability, influence".
Lanying: From Chinese 兰 (lán) meaning "elegant" and 英 (yīng) meaning "hero".

Notes:
- The amount of hyperlinks I had to click through to find the meaning of Lonnie truly makes me wonder why they named the damn girl Lonnie.
Malevolent "Mal" Bathsheba Dragonborn
Malevolent: Having or exhibiting ill will; wishing harm to others; malicious.
Mal: "Bad" in Spanish, from malo.
Bathsheba: Means "daughter of the oath" in Hebrew, derived from בַּת (baṯ) meaning "daughter" and שָׁבַע (shavaʿ) meaning "oath".

Joanne: The feminine form of John, meaning "Yahweh is gracious", from the roots יוֹ (yo) referring to the Hebrew God and חָנַן (ḥanan) meaning "to be gracious".

Tremaine: Name for someone from any of various locations called Tremayne (or Tremaine), from Cornish tre meaning "home, settlement, town" and men meaning "stone".
Notes:
- Despite the fact that John was stripped of his titles, Dizzy and her sisters are still the nieces of a king, and therefore, still obtain theirs.
- Dizzy earned her nickname when she was a little kid, before she got her glasses. She'd complain that her "eyes made her dizzy," and the nickname stuck.
- Her middle name is after her father, John.
- Lackland is John's surname, and Tremaine is obviously Drizella's.
Gilbert "Gil" Firmin Durand-LeGume
Gilbert: Means "bright pledge", derived from the Old German elements gisal "pledge, hostage" and beraht "bright".
Gil: Means "joy, happiness" in Hebrew.
Firmin: From the Latin name Firminus meaning "firm".
Durand: From Old French durant meaning "enduring", ultimately from Latin durans. This was a nickname for a stubborn person.
LeGume: A plant of the pea family.
Notes:
- Gil is the only one of his siblings to not have "Gaston" in his name, as his father believed him too weak to carry it.
- Durand is Laurette's surname, and LeGume is Gaston's.
- He initially only had the LeGume name, until Laurette died. Both he and Gabrielle took Durand onto their name to honor her.

Henry: From the Germanic name Heimirich meaning "home ruler", composed of the elements heim "home" and rih "ruler".

Notes:
- Yeap, by my own logic, Uma's technically a princess. Hilarious.
- For my own sanity, merfolk don't do middle names. (Ariel's kids are the exception because they're half-human.)
Corinne Jolie Durand
Corinne: French form of Corinna, a Latinized form of the Greek name Κόριννα (Korinna), which was derived from κόρη (kore) meaning "maiden".
Jolie: Means "pretty" in French.
Durand: From Old French durant meaning "enduring", ultimately from Latin durans. This was a nickname for a stubborn person.
Notes:
- Corinne is also Gaston's spawn, but she's not "allowed" to take his last name, as he hasn't claimed her as his own.

- Bonny was named after Anne Bonny, a fearsome female pirate.

Wu: 务 (wù) meaning "affairs, business"
Salt: A colorless or white crystalline solid, chiefly sodium chloride, used extensively in ground or granulated form as a food seasoning and preservative.

- Typically, Chinese family names go before the individual name, but since hers is hyphenated with an English last name, it goes last.
Gonzo Tiryaki
Gonzo: From the medieval name Gundisalvus, which was the Latin form of a Germanic (possibly Visigothic or Suebi) name composed of gunda "war" and maybe salba "salve, ointment", salo "dark, dusky" or sal "house, hall"

- His first name is also a reference to the phrase "gonzo" meaning "wild or crazy."
Jonas Anthony Stark
Jonas: From the Hebrew name יוֹנָה (Yona) meaning "dove".
Anthony: English form of the Roman family name Antonius, which is of unknown Etruscan origin. It has been commonly (but incorrectly) associated with Greek ἄνθος (anthos) meaning "flower".
Stark: From a nickname meaning "strong, rigid", from Old English stearc or Old High German stark.
Notes:
- His middle name paired with the last name is a reference to Tony Stark, okay? I had to.
Cécilia "Celia" Marie Facilier
Cécilia: Latinate feminine form of the Roman family name Caecilius, which was derived from Latin caecus meaning "blind".
Celia: Roman family name that was derived from Latin caelum meaning "heaven".
Marie: French form of Mary. The meaning is not known for certain, but there are several theories including "sea of bitterness", "rebelliousness", and "wished for child". However it was most likely originally an Egyptian name, perhaps derived in part from mry "beloved" or mr "love".
Facilier: In French "facile" (in other Romance languages it is written in the same way, but pronounced differently) means "easy", then "Facilier" could be "the one that makes things easy", using magic.
Notes:
- Her middle name is in honor of Marie Laveau, a real life famous voodoo practitioner.
- I got the definition of Facilier's last name from his fandom wiki page.

Squirmy: Tending to twist about briskly with contortions.
Smee: Derived from either Middle English smethe "smooth" or Old English smiððe "smithy".

Prince Zaahir Almas Jamil Karim-Al Su'ud of Agrabah and Rajah's Point
Zaahir: Means "shining, brilliant, radiant" in Arabic, derived from the root زهر (zahara) meaning "to shine".

- His middle name, Almas, is in honor of Aladdin being the "diamond in the rough."
Crown Princess Chloe Lenore Eloise Tremaine-Charmant (Charming) of Aurelais and Cinderellasburg

Tremaine: Name for someone from any of various locations called Tremayne (or Tremaine), from Cornish tre meaning "home, settlement, town" and men meaning "stone".
Charming: Pleasing the mind or senses in a high degree; delighting; fascinating; attractive.
Notes:
- Lenore is sometimes used as a name for Fairy Godmother, and while it's not here, I thought the reference would be fun.
Félix Abayomi Facilier
Félix: From a Roman cognomen meaning "lucky, successful" in Latin.
Abayomi: Means "they would have mocked me" in Yoruba, commemorating the avoidance of an unfortunate event.
Facilier: In French "facile" (in other Romance languages it is written in the same way, but pronounced differently) means "easy", then "Facilier" could be "the one that makes things easy", using magic.
Notes:
- I chose a Yoruba last name for Mama Odie, who is Facilier's mother in my au, so Facilier gave his son a Yoruba name to honor his roots.
Hazel Janice Hook
Hazel: From the English word hazel for the tree or the light brown color, derived ultimately from Old English hæsel.
Janice: Medieval English form of Jehanne, an Old French feminine form of Iohannes, from the roots יוֹ (yo) referring to the Hebrew God and חָנַן (ḥanan) meaning "to be gracious".
Hook: A curved or sharply bent device, usually of metal, used to catch, drag, suspend, or fasten something else.
Notes:
- Harriet named her, using the same "J" middle name of all of their siblings, despite the fact that Hazel had a different mother than Red Jessica.
Luis Augustín Hernando Madrigal
Luis: Spanish form of Louis, a French form of Ludwig, From the Germanic name Hludwig meaning "famous in battle", composed of the elements hlut "famous, loud" and wig "war, battle".

2) A form of Renaissance music that is still popular today.
Notes:
- He named himself. He's transgender, and he's a mama's boy, so he named himself after his mama.
- His middle names are both family names, from his abuelo and tatarabuelo (great-great grandfather)
Maddox Hatter
Maddox: From a Welsh surname meaning "son of Madoc", from the Old Welsh name Matauc, derived from mad meaning "good, fortunate"
Hatter: One whose occupation is the manufacture, selling, or repair of hats.
Notes:
- They don't do middle names in Wonderland either (again, for my own sanity.)
Maxwell "Max" Hatter
Maxwell: From a place name meaning "Mack's stream", from the name Mack, a short form of the Scandinavian name Magnus, meaning "great" in Latin, combined with Old English wille meaning "well, stream".
Max: It coincides with the informal word max, short for maximum.
Hatter: One whose occupation is the manufacture, selling, or repair of hats.
Robinson "Robbie" Knox Hood
Robinson: Means "son of Robin", a medieval English diminutive of Robert, from the Germanic name Hrodebert meaning "bright fame", derived from the elements hruod "fame" and beraht "bright".

Hearts: The second red card suit after diamonds.
Notes:
- Yeah, her name is technically "Heart Hearts." (Still better than Pink, tho.)
My headcanons about the upcoming Descendants: Wicked Wonderland movie
---
Before the events: The Queen of Hearts and Maddox Hatter met at Merlin Academy, back when the Queen was still just Bridget, and became very close friends. This later led to Maddox becoming her trusted confidant once she became Queen, as well as a mentor figure for her daughter, Red.
Because of that, Red grew up around Maddox and naturally got to know his son, Max. In the original timeline, he was just a shy boy Red felt both fondness and a little pity for, while he secretly had feelings for her. Maddox was a brilliant but crazy inventor, the pocketwatch was one of his creations, after all. Max was his assistant, always hiding behind his father.
In the new timeline, however, Max is a completely different person from the one Red remembers, and Red also has a younger sister, Pink. The three of them used to play together all the time as kids. They were an inseparable trio, constantly getting into trouble and going on adventures all across Wonderland. Max eventually developed feelings for Red in this timeline as well. Maddox, of course, wasn’t only Red’s mentor, but Pink’s too.
After the events of Descendants: The Rise of Red: Red, Chloe, and Maddox are the only ones who still remember the previous timeline. Red and Chloe remember because they traveled through time and changed the course of events, while Maddox remembers because he invented the pocketwatch and is therefore able to perceive changes in the timeline itself.
Eventually, thanks to Maddox, Red realizes that the original timeline needs to be restored, so she sets off with Chloe to fix everything. However, Pink, Max, and all the other protagonists of Wicked Wonderland (Hazel Hook, Luis Madrigal, Robbie Hood, Felix Facilier, and the Smee twins) basically force themselves into the adventure too.
As they travel through time, they all gradually regain memories of the original timeline. Max especially begins remembering his old feelings for Red, and even his personality starts shifting back into the quieter, sweeter version of himself from the original timeline.
I’m not exactly sure how, but in the end they somehow manage to restore the original timeline while still preserving Pink’s existence, and then they all return to the present. By that point, Max has convinced himself that he never really had a chance with Red. But in the end, she falls in love with him too.
One day, Red and Max get married and become the Queen and King of Wonderland, much to the happiness of both Pink, who remains the best friend of both of them forever, and their proud parents.
Red: They’re leaning into her girly side and I love it! I feel since she doesn’t have a hard life anymore, she’s let down some of her walls and softened up. She’s giving a bit more Harley Quinn with that hair. I was a bit on the fence about her pants, but they’re growing on me!
Chloe: The Elsa vibes everyone’s getting, I see it too! I think my only complaint is that there’s no gold bit in fairness, Cinderella’s dress has no gold. I love the part in her hair and sparkles! Just STYICK TO ONE WIG! If you have to change wigs, switch hairstyles so we won’t notice that much
Pink:…I feel like the theme here is stop putting these Heart sisters in shorts. I feel like it should’ve been a skirt, that’d be cuter. I didn’t like it at first, but it’s growing on me. Imma have to see that hair in action before I cast my vote tho
Hazel: literally perfection. Hazel doesn’t look like she’s from Descendants, she looks like she belongs in Pirates of the Caribbean. I swear, then it comes to the hooks, their style and face card will never decline. Like, the lace, the corset, the hook, THE HAIR!!!! Now my question is! Did Harry give her that hook or did she steal it from him?
Luis: there’s not really much to see but I like it. I think my only note is it’s not the same color scheme as Luisa. It gives me more Pepa if I’m honest but I still like it
Max: why does it make so much sense for the grandson of a Mad Hatter to just rock a fedora lol. I just wish his hair wasn’t that long. Like, I short quit under the hat would’ve been cute. That’s all I have to say cause I can’t really see it
Felix: I don’t know if it’s because he’s the black boy in Descendants I’ve been praying for or something but when I say I LOVE FELIX’S OUTFIT! OH MY GOD! The tux, the studs, the belt, the bangs, the vest, he has BLACK NAILS! He even has little skull earrings! The little details on him do it all for me! I can’t wait to see him
Robbie: Robbie’s isn’t as detailed as I would like it to be but I still like it. Personally, I kinda favor my design but I don’t hate his look. It gives cottage core and I guess that does make more sense. My design of Robbie is more based off of OUAT and this is definitely more based off the original Disney movie
Smee Twins: I hate their outfit. I’m so sorry, I tried to get on with it especially since other people like it, but I just hate their looks. I never like the hair on the twins, give them short hair plz. And the overall jumpsuits, no, I don’t like it. They should’ve been denim like Ella’s overalls. I do not like them, I tried, I hate em, justice for them. I k ow those actors felt some type of way seeing their outfit compared to everyone else’s lol
I’m genuinely really excited for this movie and to see all these characters and I can’t wait for more bts! AH! DESCENDANTS IS SO BACK!
