squeak update

Here she is at just over 4 months old 🩶🤍

she is so beautiful and perfect to me. I love her so so so much. she’s still spicy as hell and a complete terror as she has every right to be

she weighs enough now that she can wear a kitten collar so we have one on its way with a little tag and bell. the baby must be spoiled

Got back from Squeak’s first non emergency vet visit and unfortunately she’s gonna have to have her tail amputated. When I picked her up off the pavement two weeks ago she had a knot in her tail, which is most likely the site of an injury that interfered with her blood flow to the last half to two-thirds of her tail. She’s also got a broken baby canine from whatever abuse she endured before she came into my care.

She’ll be medically cared for and is loved no matter what. We are her forever home. I came from a fucked up family that, let’s just say, did not treat animals or children with kindness. That shit ends here.

she’s in heat so now we schedule the ol snip n chip

the good news is that Squeak seems to be doing really well, she’s become super popular with the staff at the veterinary clinic we took her to when she was having breathing problems and fighting off infection. They’re super happy with her weight and progress! Her tail and ears are still being monitored but in two weeks she can get her first round of kitten shots.

the vets now say her prognosis is good and she’ll probably be fine if missing a few bits from her initial trauma and being found on the hot pavement.

she’s a full pound now and will be eight weeks old tomorrow! Her little eyes are now developing their adult color. She’s using her litterbox and is eating slurry now (although she knows I’m a sucker and will let her comfort nurse on occasion). Also climbing is now THE MOST FASCINATING THING to her

she’s come a really long way from the little four week old baby we all expected to not make it to a rambunctious little chonk who wins over everyone she meets. We’re so proud of her 🩶🩶🩶
