Teuthidodrilus samae or the Squidworm 

Discovered in 2007, the squidworm was named for the ten tentacle-like appendages on it’s head- each one of them are actually longer than its body. They use these appendages to collect “marine snow” which is particles and detritus drifting through the water.

They’re based off of a squidworm. Their fin-thingies are iridescent, and they look super funky in general.

its very on-brand for me as a bobbit worm lover to discover the existence of the squidworm (a deep-sea worm) and just be like “this is baby, love this, support this” without any distaste whatsoever

Squidworm

This is a species of acrocirrid polychaete worm. It was seen in ROV footage at over 2500 m depth in the Indian Ocean. It is a species from the genus Teuthidodrilus.
