Can I just say that I wish the parallels between the women in the Firefam had been acknowledged. Sandstorm had her husband practically cheating on her with a dead childhood crush which clearly gave her anxiety in Firestar's Quest and the only resolution to the issue was Spottedleaf insisting that Firestar "definitely" loves her more. Like, the guy ponders if he wishes Spottedleaf were here in place of Sandstorm. Firestar spoke to Spottedleaf TWICE when he was goddamn child!! Sandstorm should've been deputy, she should've been viewed as a powerful and skilled cat. But instead she lived in the shadow of a tom who would've rather been with his childhood crush. Then we have Squilf who is being horribly abused by her husband and ex, and watched her husband almost leave her for a younger woman. In both of her relationships Squilf was viewed as an object which could be treated like dirt (not to mention Stormfur having weird pedophilic thoughts about her in TNP. Dude she's a child stop thinking she's attractive). Sure, Squilf is leader now, but is that even something she would want anymore after she's suffered so much? And also, lets throw in Dovewing too! The girl was hounded by Bumblestripe, a tom who she didn't love and made it clear she had no desire to be with. Then multiple people, including her own bloody mother, start guilt-tripping her into a relationship with him as if Dovewing needs to settle down immediately. The guy proceeds to then start suggesting they get back together and have kits whilst at her old man best friend Purdy's funeral. Dovewing then leaves ThunderClan to be with someone who's betrayed her trust in the past to get away from creepy ass Bumblestripe. I wish these gals had gotten some justice because they deserve better then what they got...
