I finally cleaned walter’s bones!!!

all i have is his skull and he is not fully intact (missing teeth + cracked nasal concha) but i am sososoo happy that i was able to do this!!

story of how i got Walter under the cut!!

Last year, around august, I saw a dead squirrel on the grass next to the sidewalk when i was walking my dog. I assumed he died from either natural causes or pesticide and i just left him alone.

After months of passing him while walking my dog no one moved him at all and he was starting to decompose, after a little while he fell into the curb where the cars park

I was really worried about him getting crushed so I brought him home and kept him in my room for a while

Then a few months later (in December) I was forced to keep him outside because of the smell, so I kept him on top of a planter bed during the winter and then moved him into a different planet during the spring

When it turned to summer 90% of him was gone, leaving only his skull. I had his mandible too at first but an animal stole it before I brought him inside lol

And I finally cleaned all the dirt off him yesterday so yay!!!!!!

Went to go take some trash out, and found this poor guy on the ramp in front of my door. My brother found it under the house, it could of been my cat, but thats very unlikely because my cat can’t catch an ant to save his life. So i can only assume it was another cat that got ahold of it or this poor guy got stuck under there.

Found some squirrel bones yesterday by the road so I cleaned them off and put them in a cute little jar.

now that AZ is over i can get back to the usual and get some bones cleaned.

Cleaning has been on hold for a few months now, but collecting new stuff has not. So i have a plethora of deads that are in several stages of cleaning, some need to decompose, be soaked, or be put in a peroxide bath. Im so behind its not even funny, but atleast ill be busy lol.
