hey if you're like me and you can't remember: there are no canon sprites or official art where edgeworth has earrings. his SD bratworth sprites have a blue-toned shadow under his ear that is reminiscent of franziska's earrings (to my eyes at least idk if anyone else sees it like that) which might have contributed to the popularity of the headcanon:
please keep drawing him with earrings though!!! it's really good!! this is not an anti-earrings post!!! i just literally Forgot if they were canon or not & felt compelled to share the results of my investigation. thank u
hey gang the frequency needed to go through the front door of a biangle is the bell, right? & max is going to know when to ring it?
we CAN get aromantic trending again i believe in us. have a very happy aro trending day everyone ily
binx choppley rebuilds the court of craft from the lost and discarded things of other courts– the perpetual disappointment of the unseelie court, the lovestruck failure of the lords of the wing, the owlbear who has never had a home, the goblin general who has never been permitted to be more than a blunt instrument
okay the title credits song for episode 1 is High on a Rocky Ledge by Moondog. it starts during a scene where stede’s remembering the family he’s left behind, says this:
and then continues as he reads Pinocchio to the crew at night.
the song’s narrator speaks of falling in love with the snow maiden Edelweiss,
and then dying to be with her forever.
this is edelweiss:
and this is ed’s hair in episode 5:
the flowers in his hair are very rarely in focus and too small to see well even when they can be seen, here’s a few of the better screenshots i managed to get:
it’s a small white flower with a yellow center. it’s almost definitely a more common type of daisy than an edelweiss (TIL edelweiss are in the daisy family!) – they’re famously hard to obtain, and it’s not likely stede would have dried edelweiss on hand. but let me dream.
edelweiss signify adventure and sacrifice (people literally die trying to pick them), perseverance (literally grows on mountains in the middle of winter), and true love and devotion (i love you so much i nearly died picking this flower for you). the name “edelweiß” means “noble white”, and white flowers in general represent purity.
edelweiss flowers are also incredibly short-lived.
i don’t think gwyn has access to magic.
she’s regularly overlooked by members of her court despite her prestigious family. rue, who should know everyone of note due to their position and role, can’t place her.
she didn’t get her own invite to the Bloom, she stole her sister’s– and not even by magical means. a friend changed the envelope for her.
she’s a rogue. of course we don’t know her subclass, racial traits, or if she’s taken the magic initiate feat, but rogues are not magical by default. hob is the only other character with non-magical classes (fighter, rogue, and barbarian) but this is much more fitting for a general in the goblin court than a princess in the court of wonders.
that bit at the end about feeling connected to the magic and resenting how the archfey throw it around carelessly...
