More Bad Kids as Ordo Realitas Agents HCs!
More The Bad Kids as Ordo Realitas Agents hcs because ever since I made this post I kept thinking about this AU:
They discover the existence of the supernatural during high school by having their first paranormal experience with a cult. The Ordo Realitas finds them and they decide to enter as trainees. (Lore note: The main reason they don't enter as members right away is one) lack of experience and two) That children and teenagers make the influence of Fear more powerful.)
The Bad Kids are the number one team in bringing redempted cultists into the Ordo.
Riz, despite the living hell that is being an agent, kinda likes it. He generally spearheads the investigations and has a personal archive of previous missions of his. He lowkey covets higher positions in the Ordo because that means access to the confidential documents.
In turn, Fabian entered the Ordo expecting epic monster slaying and tales of glory, he quickly changed his opinion the first time he was drenched head to toe in blood zombie viscera.
Fig's favorite rituals are pretty much all of the Energy rituals + Alter Appearance.
Adaine's are probably some Knowledge ritual, possibly Invade Mind or Enhance Intellect.
You see, healing rituals in Ordem are rarely pleasant: The most used healing ritual, Cicatrization, is a death ritual that makes a localized time distortion to make a certain injury heal faster, but not without sucking a bit of the targets lifetime in exchange: When Kristen learns this, she refuses to heal anyone for days. She stills keeps healing to a minimum.
Gorgug hangs around the Ordo engineers a lot and they were pleasantly surprised to see him around and quickly welcomed him.
The Sword of Sight is a Knowledge-cursed item.
Energy creatures are generally the ones Riz hates the most, but holy shit does he hate Guilt Parasites.
They faced one of them and he did not like having his emotional baggage being thrown wide open for all to see and vice-versa.
The Abernants are a paranormally touched family: Adaine was the only one to not know of their activities until after her first experience with the supernatural. She's horrified to learn the kind of stuff her family did.
Being the Oracle is not a fun thing in canon but it's somehow even worse here: the paranormal is about horrible things and horrible things she often sees in her visions: people dying, suffering, having themselves broken beyond repair... the Bad Kids are often there to help her, but Adaine's fears above all else having a vision about any one them.
Naturally, the equivalent of the Helio worshippers and the Harvestmen would be Knowledge-Blood cultists.
The group was once kidnapped and forced to play in one the Host's games and they just. Bullshitted their way the whole game.
Fig once made an energy cult vibe so strongly with her they actually helped the Bad Kids in their investigation. The Ordo did not believe the report they gave.
They weren't scared to use any kind of weapon in their reach to do what they had to do at first and they felt invincible while on missions, but once a veteran told them the story of how a squad much like theirs had their leader whisked away by the Guardian of Equilibrium and the Cult of Masks, a reality bending entity that apparently can erase and create memories at will,. They stopped fucking around after that.
They are convinced that Gilear is chosen by Fear itself to be the most powerful in history.
Most of their parents do not know about the Ordo, with the exception of Sklonda that was aware of the Order's existence but was not a member.
Fig once came home late at night after a quick mission sporting a huge scar across her arm and she walked directly into Sandra Lynn. They had a huge fight over it but Fig eventually relented and revealed the Ordo's existence to her mother, much to the organization's displeasure.
Ironically, Gorthalax not only knows about the paranormal as he was a heavily transcended blood cultist. He uses illusions to the general public and Sandralynn.
Adaine has a gun. All of them know how to use one. It's basic agent training.
The Order's training veterans were (rightly) concerned when they had to put firearms in their arms in order to train them.
I just know Riz couldn't wait for his first mission. While he was being trained along the other Bad Kids, their training sessions were like, once or twice a week but he'd show up almost everyday, he often had to be dragged out of the Ordo.
As of now, they'd be special agents, being really close of being promoted to leadership positions in the Order.
When they first realize that, as veterans, they can train newbie squads themselves and some are excited at the prospect (Gorgug, Fabian and Adaine specially) and others kind of dread the prospect ("what if I don't train them well enough and it costs their lives?" Riz had said when questioned).
They stay in the Order out of sense of obligation by some (Adaine because of her family, Kristen because of the harvestmen that still run around), by knowing this is necessary (Gorgug, Riz and Fabian actually) or/and belonging (Fig and Riz, they feel right at home here with the other agents)
They'd talked about retiring from the Order before, but they stay for one another.
Ordem Canon x Bad Kids
Fig and Agatha. The Order trembles before their might.
Riz considers Veríssimo to be third coolest person to ever walk this earth just after his parents.
Arthur (Cervero) is well beloved by the Bad Kids and vice-versa.
Adaine really quietly admires Dante.
Ivete and Cathilda are probably the most beloved and mom-like people in the Order, specially to Fabian.
Jawbone enters the Ordo Realitas as kind of an untrained psychiatrist, but seeing his potential, the Ordo decides to fund his studies as an actual psychologist.
Gorgug thought well of Kaiser before what happened to him. The other Bad Kids were floored when it happened they all thought of him as kind of... invincible before.
Erin was prohibited from handing any kind of explosive to the Bad Kids, not after they blew up part of a small town while fighting a creature.
In a similar vein Fig and Erin commited arson once.
Lupi and Boggy are friends.
The one who nudged Gorgug into tech and engineering was Samuel.
Riz once tried to make a PowerPoint presentation to Veríssimo as to explain why he should allow him to have access to more documents of the Ordo. The leader saw the title of the presentation and said a flat "no."
System-wise HCs
In the AOP-RPG system, there are only three classes: Combatants (focused on combat, obviously), specialists (have a lot of skills and generally are the investigators of the party) and occultists (people with connection with the supernatural and can have rituals).
So my HCs for their classes and subclasses are:
Fabian is either a Warrior Combatant (focused on melee combat) or a Special Ops Combatant (focused on being faster than the rest and attacking multiple times per round). I believe later down the line he'd transcend to get some rituals like Curse Weapon and Shuffle (which is basically Mirror Image)
Gorgug would be either an Annihilator Combatant (basically someone who upgrades A LOT their favorite weapon) or an Shock Troupe Combatant (basically the tanking focusing subclass).
Riz is the sole specialist in the party and he'd have the Infiltrator subclass (which is to say that it's basically a rogue: focused on invading and being stealthy)
Fig is an Paranormal Blade Occultist, which is a combat focused caster, but I can see her using a lot of utility.
Kristen would probably be an exorcist occultist (which is a subclass from another source book aside from the main one) or an Intuitive Occultist, a type of subclass focused on being mentally resilient to the horrors of the Other Side, reflecting how she was never truly afraid of looking beyond what was taught to her.
Adaine, with 99% certainty, would be a graduate Occultist, one that focuses on knowing the biggest amount of rituals and even have a grimoire later on (An alternative, non-canon option would be a homebrew subclass I have: The prophet)
Considering they are level 14 at the end of Junior Year, they'd have about 70% NEX and using the VD system, they'd have a accumulated 420VD, which theorically would make them strong enough to face even the Relics of the Other Side, the most powerful personifications of the paranormal elements.
WHICH MEANS THAT HOLY SHIT IMAGINE THEM FIGHTING AGAINST THE HOST THAT WOULD BE SOOO FUCKING FUNNY
