idol choreographies are actually so awesome, especially when there’s a lot of people to account for. its intricacies in showing off each person as well as smaller groups, the perfect angles and movements that match the lyrics of that moment as well as the overall tone and theme, the way back up dancers and props are incorporated within it as they’re weaved in and out of the song …. sm can spend the big bucks, and i feel it’s paid off looking at the last two years of their groups - shinee have had the best deal with sherlock, dream girl, everybody and taemin’s danger which was so obviously made with him in mind, but exo’s growl deserves all the praise it got and snsd’s mr. mr is perfect (making up for the lackluster song). dbsk’s are also works of art, but there isn’t a constant movement with members that you get with the bigger groups.

and when you get to that moment of a sleepless night where you realise that such choreographies are only one of the countless things that are necessary to make a three minute performance work? it is absolutely incredible.

i know many look down on kpop because the idols aren’t ‘real musicians’ for not making their own music, but i think it’s fascinating and respectable in its own right to see how large production companies bring in different people to work on every aspect of an album to make it the best it can be. choreographers, lyricists, composers, mixers, vocal coaches, stylists, dieticians, hairdressers, make up artists, managers, graphic designers … so many people, all for a couple of young adults supposedly just doing some cute faces for three minutes of screen time. all of them are worked hard - sleepless nights aren’t just for the idols. these companies are smart businesses, and none have grasped the concept better than sm. it is no accident that they’re reaping in the profits. no other country can do it on the scale of south korea, due to many cultural and historical reasons.

look, it’s not sustainable, but then no type of music really is. nothing in this world is. it’s not a humane lifestyle for many who are cogs in the machine, but you have to understand most of the country is in the same boat. but it is acceptable and necessary to admire what human effort, skill and creativity can come up with.

tldr: kpop can be pretty cool.

What does it take for it to end? How long will it go on? Why does it keep happening? 

I just don't understand.

I am talking about rumors of course. It blows my mind to see how many rumors come and go and the really disturbing part: how many actually accept the rumors. It does not matter if your BFF Jill told you, it doesn't matter who said, what the source is... It just doesn't matter. Why are you allowing yourself to be controlled so easily? Why are you allowing -others- to control your opinions? That is what is really going on... Someone is offering you a story, an opinion in regards to a person or organization and you nod your head and agree with them, adopting that opinion as your own.

I can't tell you how many doors have been closed over gossip. Jill told Jack about what Jim did and how bad he is... So now Jack -hates- Jim, talks about a guy he doesn't even know in a negative manner because someone else told him so. It is pathetic, if not a complete blow to my belief in the 'community' here.

Some of my closest friends have been developed in the times that I've approached the opposing party of a rumor and basically asked them straight up what happened. From there we usually have a conversation starter and I make a new friend, a new group of people to roleplay with - because the time was put into finding out a full story rather than a bias one-sided stream of gossip.

I'm not telling you that this is going to be the truth, I'm not telling you that your friends are lying to you... I'm not telling you that everything is a rumor, or that we'll all be friends if rumors were to drop dead.

All I'm saying is... You'll be a better person for it. You had the will power, the mental strength, and the independence to develop an opinion for yourself.

Good job, I'm proud of you.

But seriously, get over yourself. You're out of High School, it's time to stop acting like a child and do some grown-up , civil shit. You know, like... Being a good human being, making friends instead of enemies, not manipulating your 'friends', and eating tofu. (I dunno, Tofu raises your good alignment in Fable, so...)

Why are rumors started in the first place?

Sometimes simple fault of communication, sometimes a lack of perspective, sometimes an honest mistake, and a shit-ton (Count it, a whole shit-ton) of petty reasons such as jealousy and anger.

Now, to all of the victims of rumors and gossip... Yes, all of you. Everyone reading this, because rather you know it or not... You're a victim of rumors and gossip, some have just been harassed to a higher degree. 

I am asking a lot and I know that, but here it goes.

Forgive them.

I know, I know... They hurt you. You're angry with them... You want your revenge! A good rumor should get us equal... *Temples fingers*

No, it really doesn't. It makes you bad... It makes you real bad, it's quite honestly a gateway to being a terrible fucking person. 

I speak from experience.

Just forgive them, I understand it's hard to do. I know it takes a lot of courage to simply approach them... Ask them if they really started the rumor, chances are - they'll lie about it so just say: Regardless if you did or not, I just wanted to let you know that I forgive you. I'm not going to plot against you, or whoever was involved. I just forgive you, I'm going to go be an adult now - Have fun trying to get out of High School.

You probably shouldn't be that snarky, but still. You get my point.

Forgive them, please. Maybe, one day you can be friends rather than foes and open up a ton of new doors that otherwise would have been locked.

Even if you're not friends, the courage that you showed might just be enough to make you a role model that the person -desperately- needs in their life... It could make them see their errors, it could make them return the gift of forgiveness and in doing so, you just unlocked the door for someone else - which is an even greater feeling.

While I haven't had the chance myself to encounter -all- of the people that have gossiped about myself or my organization, I have had a few encounters. I'm pretty good friends with the majority of them and that really makes me happy.

To those that I haven't had the pleasure of meeting pixel-to-pixel and have taken part in rumors against myself or my organization. 

I want to let you know that you're forgiven, I'm not mad. I'm not going to plot your demise. I'm going to keep roleplaying with my wonderful guild, I'm going to keep enjoying it, I'm going to keep loving each one of my members, and I'm going to continue to hope that some day you take the gift of forgiveness and pass it on. 

I hope that you choose to be a decent human being, I hope that you choose to forgive the negative deeds committed against you, and I'm going to continue to hope if we all just put a little more effort to being independent, mature, and civil that our community will grow and strengthen.

Now, I really want to stress that I'm not even remotely attempt to say that I haven't been a terrible person, because I have. I've tossed my fair share of rumors around, I've been an ass to plenty of people, I'll never deny that. I think that's why saying this, seeing this should be important to you. I'm not better than you, I'm not perfect - I'm pretty terrible, I sadly will more than likely never receive forgiveness for any deed.

I'm in fact betting that this will all be scoffed at and tossed away, while I hope to be proven wrong. 

I'm not going to ask for forgiveness, I don't think anyone should. It should be something freely given without expecting anything more than a potential friend and a healthier mind. 

I do however simply want to apologize, to anyone and everyone that I have ever made a rumor about, gossiped about, did not stop either or, and proceeded to spread either or.
