Although Iddy hadn’t been expecting it, at the age of 33, his friend Lina (aged 240) practically ordered him to go trick or treating with her. Iddy didn’t really know what was stranger, the fact that two fully grow adults were going trick or treating, or the fact that this was actually one of the only times he’d ever gone knocking on doors that didn’t belong to family members. But, Iddy managed to find a pretty cool looking mummy costume, which was one of his favourite things to dress up as for costume parties. And he knows he looks pretty good in it. @evangelinethorn
A typical sight in Sumner for one of it’s most opulent residents, distributed en masse around Sumner is an invite to Fane Savin’s All Hallow’s Eve party. Known for his enjoyment at playing host to events both big and small he’ll find pretty much any excuse to open the doors of his expansive Sang Wen estate to anyone who wishes to come transforming it into a spook-tacular venue. There are never any limitations to who is invited and pretty much everyone from every walk of life or social class is welcome. The only charges on the night apply to alcoholic beverages besides the complimentary champagne.
Plus, how could he miss celebrating one of his daughter’s favourite annual holidays?
This year she’s going to dress up as Beetlejuice. Shivonne goes fully ride or die with Halloween costumes. There are never been a Halloween where she has gone as a sexy cat, sexy devil, sexy witch, or a sexy mouse. She is such a huge fan of horror movies, so she tends to pick a character and make sure she has the best costume. She also never picks the same costume more than once. Her favorite costume so far has been her Reagan McNeil costume. She had to go to two different Halloween parties in one night, so she was pre-possession Reagan for the first one, and possessed Reagan for the second one.

❝ I see the girls walk by dressed in their summer clothes ;
I have to turn my head until my darkness goes . . .
No colours anymore I want them to turn black. ❞ ( ♫ )
Unlike her father to whom style and presentation are of the utmost importance, Dani prefers to dress each day as she pleases, whether that be for self-comfort or for show. If she’s tired or simply not on the mood to be picky about her attire, she will even go out looking, admittedly, like a bit of a mess. But she doesn’t mind. Outward appearances are just that, after all. There’s almost always more to a person than what meets the eye, and how could she resist digging deeper into the fascinating personal mystery that is style?
Yet, a paradox stands: Dani dresses honestly. In addition to being worn merely for practicality, her unique arrangements are also a direct reflection of her tastes and opinions. That is why you’ll never see her strolling down Main Street in pastel pinks or lacy skirts. It’s just not Dani. More often than naught, her outfits exude simplicity in both organization and color. Her typical palette consists of white, gray, crimson, silver, gold, the occasional splash of army green, navy, or denim, and of course black. Earth tones are added into the mix for the purposes of archaeological work -- the field being a different stage entirely. Accessories are few and come and go on a whim, but her darkly painted nails are a sure constant, no matter the type of dress.
formal wear.
With unfettered access to her father’s designers and family money to spare, Dani could have practically any formal attire she dreamed of, yet her favored choice is a crisp suit. Though, her closet is nowhere near as extensive as Fane’s. She limits herself to owning only a few at any time, instead inviting variety by collecting a mix of different waistcoats, shirts, ties, bow ties, suspenders, cuff links, and pocket squares. She prefers solid colors and subtle patterns that match with her usual aesthetic, with a bias toward bow ties and skinny ties. Three piece suits are saved for the most formal of occasions. For slightly more casual events, she may opt for a combination of shirt and waistcoat, shirt and suit jacket, or shirt and suspenders. She may also swap out her nicer trousers for a leather pair or even a clean pair of black jeans. Black oxfords constitute her most common shoe choice, but gladiator style flats or the rare pair of heels make an appearance now and again.
Gowns are reserved almost exclusively for balls, and even then, she may decide she feels more comfortable in a suit instead. It all depends on the mood of the moment.
everyday attire.
"I’m not cute; I’m punk rock,” was a common phrase uttered in Dani’s delinquent years that still holds true in her everyday wear. Leather pants, black jeans, crops tops, band and graphic tees, layered tanks, sheer textured undershirts, miscellaneous flannels, a splash of camo -- if it fits with her style, it’s game to be worn. Her favorite leather jacket and combat boots are never forgotten unless the weather prompts for something warmer. Rips and tears to accent edginess? Absolutely, but in moderation, of course. She is an adult, albeit a young one, and does keep this in mind when she goes out. Though, it doesn’t hurt to keep up with more youthful trends either. A few rings, necklaces, bracelets, or scarves may add some quirk in minor doses. All in all, comfort is just as ideal as appeal. What she may spruce up a bit with her outer layers won’t reflect the simplicity preserved underneath. Her standard undergarments are limited to sports bras and boxer briefs. It’s not everyday she makes an exception to that rule. And her tastes are not gender specific, so don’t be shocked if you catch her browsing the guy’s side of the store.
archaeological gear.
Due to the need for durable, easy-to-clean gear for outdoor archaeological work and related adventures, Dani’s field wardrobe is vastly different from her usual darkened assemblage. Tees are replaced by simple tanks, shirts, and flannels, her black jeans are set aside to make room for worn denim and cargo pants, and combat boots become hiking boots or soft-soled converse and sandals (for working around delicate burials). An Indiana Jones-esque hat is a must for long days spent under the beating sun and suspenders, well-- that’s just aesthetic.
There is one accessory, however, that never leaves Dani when she’s at a site: her ankh bracelet. It was a souvenir she picked up the first time her father took her to one of his digs in Egypt and she hasn’t left for an adventure without it since. The ankh is the ancient Egyptian symbol for life. To Dani, it’s a good luck charm that she believes has more than once aided in getting her home safely. Leaving without it would simply be asking for trouble.
“It’s not the impression you make, it's the impression you leave.”
One thing Fane takes particular care about is his appearance he’s a relatively well-known citizen on the social scene and in his opinion if you want to make a good impression you have to start with your appearance. He’s a businessman first and foremost, he’s here to get things done and ultimately achieve his goals. His thought pattern on the topic is this: anyone who says they don’t judge a book by its cover is a liar, in his opinion everyone makes assumptions when they first see someone so why not get ahead of the game and set a good example?
When it comes to the types of clothes Fane picks the main thing on his mind is the quality and thread count in the item, expense is never a concern. Centuries of travel and business deals allows for a wealth of opportunities to make one of the most important things in life: contacts. Fane enjoys meeting people and finding out about them and it is this attitude that has put him on good footing with various tailors around the globe who are always happy with the boost to their bank accounts that comes with a bespoke order from Fane Savin.
His most predominant choice of attire is a well-cut slimline suit after all a fitted suit works double duty, flattering the physique (broadening the shoulders and narrowing the waist) all whilst communicating traits such as attention to detail and confidence. Anyone can pick up a suit, but ensuring it fits perfectly is what could make or break a deal. Whether he wears a tie or not is dependent on his mood and the things he’s got to do later in the day but one note to make regarding this is that he will only wear skinny ties don’t even think about presenting him with anything wide as it will never see the light of day. More often than not when he’s not around people and is out back in the museum studying artefacts or reading he’ll discard his jacket, keep his waistcoat and roll up his shirt sleeves .
Finishing touches for when he wears full suits are a bespoke tie clip, brogues and high-end watch brand such as a Rolex, Ulysse Nardin or Jaeger-LeCoultre to name just a few brands he might be seen sporting, sometimes he’ll even go so far as to have a pocket watch on him. During winter he’ll usually also typically pair his suit with a heavy woollen overcoat.
That doesn’t mean to say Fane will always be seen out in a suit although it is the most common sight should you come across him. For example the most likely time you’ll see him choose to dress down is when he’s out and about with his daughter Dani. More often than not the pair enjoy going adventuring and a suit isn’t exactly the best option when out exploring the wildernesses of the world. In these instances he’ll far more likely opt to for brown or black leather jackets, a henley or polo shirt, jeans and brown walking boots (see bottom left image). How many layers he wears is weather dependent not that the cold actually bothers him but aesthetic is important to maintain in his mind.
The final part of his wardrobe is his archaeological gear, although he hasn’t worn this in a while due to his busy schedule when he does get the time to go back to his roots he’ll choose clothes which are durable, lightweight and easy to clean. More often than not he’ll simply pick a olive shirt and khaki cargo trousers which are ideal due to their numerous pockets in which he can keep any tools he might require - trowel, tape measure, camera etc and a sturdy pair of boots.
Aside from his outfit, personal grooming is also important to Fane he goes through phases of being clean shaving whilst at other times have some neatly shaped stubble. He isn’t a huge fan of the shine gel or wax usually gives to hair and instead likes to keep his as natural as possible (for his most common stubble and hairstyles see here or here).
Sam wears pretty much a variation of the same outfit all the time, because all his clothes are pretty similar. He lives in skinny jeans, black and dark wash denim are his favorites but a few pairs of lighter ones make an appearance sometimes. He’s usually in layers so he can adapt to the weather; a plain t-shirt (occasionally a band shirt) under a button down, black hoodie, or black leather jacket. He prefers to wear high top Converse sneakers or brown ankle height hiking boots, but he does have running sneakers–they won’t make it into an actual outfit, but he does go running every day. He can always be seen with his phone, which is loaded with music, and a pair of headphones around his neck or earbuds dangling out of the collar of his shirt. His long hair is up in a man bun either due to warmer weather or because he’s avoiding getting it trimmed. His outfits are always very deliberate.
Joel isn’t aware of most current fashion trends, he wears things that he likes and that he finds comfortable. Usually that means sports tops and faded jeans with sneakers. Recently, he’s been trying to up his game, and refers to his sister for fashion advice. She bought him a couple of shirts and pants that weren’t blue, black, or gray, and he actually really liked them.
While on holiday in California one year, Joel bought a Hawaiian shirt at the beach, and since then he’s been obsessed and wears them all the time. He has about six pairs of Hawaiian shirts. He thinks that if he dresses them up a bit with nice pants and shoes, then they look better. His sister still teases him about them, but he likes the way they look.
His sister also told him he needs to stop wearing jeans for pants. So he went out and bought a jean shirt, and khaki pants. She doesn’t tell him not to wear jeans anymore.
