Actually them cutting out this version, and retaking it so that Mike's touch doesn't linger on Will's binder, just on his own, has the same amount of implications as leaving it in would have, I'm afraid.

Imagine Dustin being the last one out of the basement, and he touches his and Lucas's binders. I wouldn't think TWICE of it. They are friends, of course he's going to miss Lucas, duh, and Lucas's binder is the closest to his.

But, if Lucas touched Max's binder -- yup. There's something here, because Lucas and Max's relationship is inherently romantic, even when they aren't together.

And they had to do a literal retake(/make the effort to cut it out) of this whole moment, just so Finn touches only Mike's binder, and not Will's.
