as an enjoyer of crackships and as a multishipper i don't understand why people get so hung up that ships have to be canon for them to enjoy them! stranger things has ended and byler is not canon and its okay. would I have liked byler to be canon? of course! it would have made a beautiful queer rep in this poli climate but it's not and that's okay. accepting is the first step. canon vs noncanon should not stop people from shipping and enjoying fictional characters. byler not being canon does not make it any less. i myself am more of an elmax truther but i like byler too they had great potential. same with steddie, ronance, stonathan they are noncanon but some of the best st ships for me; perhaps now a case can be made for stonathan lol but the point is they don't have to be canon for us to love them. so many of my other fandoms fav ships are also not canon and that does not stop me from shipping the characters i like because it's fiction. fanon ships are super fun too, infact more fun because there is no canon restriction. good ships do not need to be canon to enjoy them. same with byler. the tv show is over and it's a new year, ship whatever you want who cares! but if the ship isn't canon there is no need to pretend or fight just write and read fix it fics! ao3 is better than canon any day

Rating the gift bag waiting for us upon arriving to the ST finale premiere at The Park Theatre, Vancouver ✨️

(watching the ep with finn was cool and all but this gesture was so sweet. it was also super cool to be there for the grand re-opening since Finn + others bought it & organized its return)

We in Vancouver are so thankful to have such a historical gem saved, and a space so important to the local film community- though it was a whole group of investors that made this possible, Finn & the CEO of the Rio seemed to be the ones with the idea & willingness to organize it all- it's a real "giving back to your hometown" moment, and straight up we owe them both so much for keeping a sliver of our city's history alive.

Now for the many cons in re-opening a vintage theatre within 2 months time:

-some toilets of this theatre didn't flush

-toilet paper wasn't present upon arrival

-the seats were insanely old

-the aisles of seats were extra tight in regards to personal space

-we were 30 minutes behind with the rest of the planet in watching

-The Park is definetly not designed for this type of "once in a lifetime" event due to space

But none of that mattered because a) this theatre isn't for this type of thing, it's for film the staff were FLYING to meet the demand of the night, the speech was sweet, they gave you an $11 voucher for concession, and apparently I was allowed to go out for smoke breaks if I wanted to- and they had boxes of ST themed donuts waiting for us at the door.

I will also commend Finn for being willing to attend this premiere not only to speak, but to watch it with his fans as well. For some reason he seemed nervous, and I am so fucking glad he didn't get weird fans coming at him when he sat down in his seat🩷 I've always felt a "protect this boy at all costs" type thing due to the fact we live in the same place and from all that he had to deal with in the past + the fact he can't even go to a food truck without an article being written about what he ate.
