I enjoyed this better than the parade, but i feel like people dressed up more at the parade. I spent way too much money, but got some fun things.

St. Pete Pride was definitely once in a lifetime csuse you won’t find me outside all day long again in the FLORIDA SUMMER lol

I took a friend to his first Pride event. Was glad to do it even though June in Florida is crazy hot and humid.

Pride Pay Wall?

This is super late, but last Saturday I went to St. Pete pride in Florida and saw something that really disappointed me... the coolest (in temperature) and most beautiful area was blocked off by a pay wall and guarded by police. People were not allowed by the area near the water unless they payed for VIP tickets in advance. I don’t know if I have to remind anyone that The First Pride Was a Riot, but... not to mention, pride was not made for rich people. Pride was not made for profit. Pride was made to combat oppression, and it strikes me as incredibly classist to make people pay for the most comfortable area of the parade when LGBT people are statistically more likely to be in poverty. I probably won’t be attending St. Pete pride again. It’s just become really corporate and uncomfortable and I feel gross supporting something like that.
