Okay no not going to sleep yet, here is my thoughts summed up ig
Was there a point where the details did truly matter? When them telling us to look for details payed off? When they didn't blatantly lie to our faces about what scenes we would be getting? When they didn't forget the most basic of information about the characters they created?
I refuse to believe that the queercoding / queerbaiting wasn't intentional. You CANNOT UNINTENTIONALLY QUEERBAIT AN ENTIRE FANDOM FOR 10 YEARS ACROSS 5 SEASONS. I'm sorry but I refuse to believe that.
The fact that the ending was the
[female MC trying to escape the abuse following her all her life eighter kills herself or isolates herself and never gets to see the only people who have ever cared about her ever again]
[the only lesbian relationship gets written out of the show like it never existed and the remaining part of the couple gets all of her masculine traits and appearance taken away]
[the gay MC ends up in a random bar with a person wearing the same clothes as his first love]
[that said first love ends up becoming exactly like his father which was precisely what he was trying to avoid]
[the fact that someone loosing both of their kids in painful and horrifically undeserved ways is supposed to be a cathartic ending for them]
[that the kid who was almost beaten to death by bullies for not conforming gives a speech about not conforming and is somehow praised for it by the people who almost beat them to death]
Nah man. I could even forgive the props changing, the details getting fucked up, the plotholes the size of half a continent but not this. Not like this.
I don't think I have ever seen something more embarrassing for the writers of a show than conformitygate. The community coming up with a theory that would fill *all* the blanks and tie the story up perfectly, just simply becouse they refused to believe that the final episode could suck as much as it did, and than crashing netflix to find nothing.
The last laugh is ours I say bc we were called noise, the byler community was called noise and yet we were strong and persistent enough to crash the entire site by having a single ounce of hope left in us for the writers.
will should’ve pushed mike off the fucking tower after that “friends! no! best friends”
strangers things plot is literally just everyone playing in will’s face. he should’ve killed them.
and what is the point of bringing hopper back if he’s gonna try to kill himself every season
