Trying to schedule games with busy ladies is hard enough, but then school and theatre season start and scheduling games becomes like rolling low with negative modifiers.

Stage manager friends, advice needed...

Today in rehearsal one of the producers handed me a big stack of checks to distribute to the cast. I really don't have a problem with doing that, but this is for two legit shows in rep at a downtown theater, and not a small one off showcase or something. I figured things should be as official as possible. Since he was going to be attending rehearsal, I suggested that the checks should probably come from him directly or from someone else in Producing/Company Management. He had no problem doing this but seemed VERY confused. Almost like I was the one in the wrong. Am I going crazy? Stage managers don't normally distribute paycheck right?
