Why sleeping till one blows
Wins: 3 Loses: 2 I guess being liberal we could say that the first loss I had was because my computer lagged out and crashed and if one judges by tournament ruling it would have been a re-game. So I guess we could say 3W/1L? I don't know I'm counting it as a loss because my MMR/Score on the bracket counts it as a loss. Anyway I woke up late today. I like to wake up around 10:00 or 11:00, but I way over slept (probably because I stayed up till 5:00am this morning <.<) and only ended up getting to play five games this morning because my computer was lagging super hard and needed to be reset and all that good shit. I could honestly probably play another game or two but I wanted some time to write before work and get back into the groove of things. I only really had one game worth talking about and it was a PvT (Protoss vs Terran for my not SC2 related followers) on that new map. I think it's called Condemned Ridge? I don't know, but I do know its rush distance is fucking huge. The reason I find this game worth talking about is I feel like the only reason I won is because of micro early game helping me to win. The game starts out pretty standard, I scout no proxies and go standard with my 1G Fast Expand. In the time the match starts I miss a chrono on my cybercore and ended up a little behind, which sucks because this was the one game where I really couldn't afford to be behind. About the time I finish chronoing out my second stalker (my unit composition at the time was: Zealot, Stalker, Stalker) several Marauders show up. Like really early rushed 2rax only Marauders. Normally this is a very easy thing to deal with. Drop Forcefields, run zealots forward have stalkers focus Marauders. Terran can then either focus your stalkers and then die to the Zealots or focus the Zealots and die to the Stalkers. However with Two Stalkers and a Zealot and no sentries that wasn't an option. I managed to kill one of the Marauders with my Zealot microing against it. I drop a few more pylons and an extra gate way going into the not so standard 1gate FE into 4gate defense. At this point I'm focusing all my Chronoboosts on my Warp Gate. Its almost done and I just have to hold out. Shot by shot I carefully take out another Marauder. Then I look over at my natural and see my Nexus taking damage and almost finished. I cancel it at the last second and drop another two pylons. Warp Gate is almost up. Terran decides without the natural there its time to force his way up into my main. He had the numbers and the counter. So I pull about half my probes and A-Click his Marauders. They start focusing pobes and I manage to snipe another Marauder. Terran sees this and pulls out I pull my probes back to the mineral line after having only like three of them. Warp gate finishes and I warp in three zealots. I push out with the Zealots and Stalkers and I lose another Stalker but manage to kill the first wave of Marauders. Terran hadn't stopped making more and so they were rallied outside my base. I pull back and drop my Nexus and another Pylon. When Warp Gates are back up I warp in two more sentries and another zealot. He makes the mistake of waiting to get more Marauders and pushes again. At this point I'm up to four sentries 3 stalkers and a ton of Zealots. My force fields were perfect and he had no way to stutter step my zealots. He lost every single Marauder. I then drop a robo and a forge and warp in more zealots. I then spend every chronoboost I have on my Nexi catching up in probes. I still feel behind so I almost exclusively make Immortals and zealots until charge finishes. I also focus on getting a drop up. When Terran moves out I do a 10 Zealot Drop in his main and kill all of his workers at his main. He pulls his entire army back giving me enough time to finish Psy Storm. After a few micro intensive battles I establish a third and go up to 14 Gates. I focus on getting Zealots as buffer but when I have the gas getting Archons. The Terran never gets ghosts. He eats one too many psy storms and backs himself into his base using his own buildings and the fact Terran units shoot to do extra damage. Still he's cornered and takes more Psy Storms than he can handle and after his front gets smashed he GG's. It was a fun game, but its annoying because the guy at the end was only in Silver. I'd like to think if I'd not missed that chronoboost on my Warp Gate earlier on and thus had the units I should have had I would have just crushed him. Still its annoying to think I was in danger from a Silver League player. Especially because the game before him was a Diamond League Protoss (I won that too, but it wasn't as impressive). I have no idea what the fuck my MMR looks like right now. Anyway I have 30 minutes till work now that this is written up so yeah you've been filled in. Also I've decided that I'm going to try KiwiKaki's Stalker Colo Mothership Play he used vs Stephano next time I play a roaching opponent. Roaches are very good when they get you on the back foot, but I feel like if I can recall to my base when they counter attack I can really abuse the Stalker/Colo mix to snipe bases here and there.
