A lovely sunny day with clear skies. July 2026 was a heatwave in the UK but the breeze made this walk less hot. It is a great walk up the moor from the reservoir to Stanage Edge. There are tracks from the shooting vehicles that help the walk. A very quiet moor - saw no other walkers until at Stanage Edge. Time for a pleasant cup of coffee perched at one of the stones near to the trig point. The walk back down Stanage and past Stanage Pole was much busier - it seems many people came out to make the most of a great day.
[2026-04-20] The view of the north of Stanage Edge from the Long Causeway. Walked up from Dennis Knoll car park, along the Long Causeway and then north along Stanage Edge to Stanage End. Then it was back under the crags. A great day out.
[2026-01-31] Another Stanage walk. Sun was out at start but soon disappeared. Good to be out especially as the weather has not been too good for walking.
[2026-01-01] Christmas was a walk to Stanage then south from Stanage Pole, New Year's Day was north from Stanage Pole to the trig point at high Neb. Not too many people out, could be as it was very windy.
[2025-12-25] Christmas Day walk along Stanage Edge to White Path Moss Trig. Great views but cold and windy. Morning walk and not many about.
[2025-11-21] A winter walk in November. Really sunny day but so cold. Walked to Stanage Pole then to the edge. Turned south to walk to White Path Moss trig point.
