@standies I’m exposing u
Everyday of my life I’m left to felt that I can match up to everyone else because I own Standardbreds. I get looked at and talked about like I can’t even afford an ‘actual horse’. For one I rescued one of my boys, I didn’t know his age, gender, height, breed, or anything until the day I walked into that paddock and they pointed him out. He was barely even harness broke and I’ve only ever seen him pace once in the two years I’ve owned him and his canter and jump are the kind you wish your 3* warmblood eventer had. (My profile) My second horse? Well my sister bought him, we looked at Thoroughbreds and Standardbreds and she decided on him. He’s a default Standy, he paces all the time but he still canters and trots just as much! I even jump him, he doesn’t enjoy it though. My point is, I’m sick of feeling in adequate and like my horses don’t hold just as much potential as yours because they’re Standardbreds.
I think people forget that not every single Standardbred struggles to canter. I also think that too many people think every single Standardbred can pace.
