Preview:
God, he was just ranting last night over the phone. Nothing like a friendly rivalry turned sour when he’d accidentally let drop to Andrew--the man who at some juncture over the course of Steven’s career basically confirmed to him that there was a God--that he and Ryan had had a thing when they were interns together.
Andrew had looked over at Ryan, acid in his stare even as his eyebrows quirked in a would-be nonchalance. “Him?” he’d said.
And Steven had known a storm was coming. That had been the month Andrew got engaged.

I sorted through all of my documents the other day and I have SO much unfinished standrew fics in there.. What do you want to read? Smut, a Marvel AU, a Brooklyn 99 AU, Home is Where the Heart (and Kitchen) is, something entirely different?
So the "sushi and burger" episode made me wonder. What might a standrew "sliding doors" type AU look like where Andrew never became part of bfwi. idk like if Keith continued or Steven found another replacement for him or if Andrew did but it was much much later. And maybe they would still become friends (and/or fall in love) but just how different it would be. And I'm really curious to hear people's thoughts/other ideas about this.(Or fanwork links if someone has already thought of this AU).
You know what? I don’t remember reading a fic like this (but if I’m wrong please let me know), but if Andrew never joined Worth It, I feel like there would have had to have been a situation that pushed them together so that Steven and Andrew could get to know each other. So much of their actual relationship comes from shared experiences and their love of the show.
But let’s say Andrew never joined Worth It and it got big but not as big as it did with Andrew. But even so, it got big and everyone in the office was really impressed by the shows growth. Andrew was really impressed by Steven. Steven seemed shy and unsure of himself but with Worth It he really shined and Andrew respected that. He had some ideas on how to make it better but it wasn’t his place to impose. Till one day he finds Adam and Steven struggling over a detail for the show and he cautiously offers a solution and Steven suddenly becomes excited, adding more ideas to branch off of Andrew’s suggestion and Andrew can’t help but feel a slight satisfaction (and also a pull to help Steven again for some reason). Then Andrew becomes kind of like an advisor or assistant producer for the show and it develops from there.
I would add more ideas (like what if the cohost was Ben or Kwesi or... Simu 👀) but I have to get to work. Thanks for the idea!!

Summary:
Steven/Andrew
One-Sided Attraction, Internalized Homophobia
Angst, Friends to Lovers, Slow Burn
Steven’s life is going great. He’s living it up in New York (his favorite city), working as a video producer for one of the largest media companies on the planet (big things coming). Oh, and he’s also engaged… finally proposed to his girlfriend (she said yes). What more could a man ask for?
There’s just the issue of this unsettling feeling in his heart that simply won’t ever go away.
or, the one where Steven realizes he’s been chasing the wrong things.
the sound of your breathing hits my ears (the world reappears)
andrew has depression. steven helps.
Andrew can’t get out of bed today. Steven says that’s okay. Steven says he understands. Steven smiles softly, sadly, at Andrew. Steven plays with Andrew’s hair. Steven kisses Andrew’s forehead. Steven calls Andrew in sick to work. Steven puts a glass of water on the bedside table along with some toast and then Steven leaves for work.
monochrome (bonus: 2/?)
Soft, yet reminiscent of a vast ocean hue. Someone comforting and familiar - Zach was a light baby blue.
welcome back.
A sequel to this short fic.
The wheels of Steven's luggage bag echoed through the empty walls of the airport. It was surprisingly quiet for LA, but it was 2am. With sleepiness taking over his body, Steven sat on the nearest bench. He didn't get to sleep in the plane, his mind was busy thinking about how would he and Andrew meet again. Would it be awkward? Would it be exciting? Sad? Painful? After all, they didn't get to have a proper farewell.
Steven's afraid, to be quite honest. His heart began to beat fast, instantly waking him up. Adam's fetching him. It's okay. Maybe he and Andrew can reunite with Adam.
He heard footsteps coming from his left while he stared at his distorted reflection on the shiny, white tiles. He wondered if Adam bought him coffee as he asked him to do so.
"Steven."
It was monotone, but loud. He recognized that voice.
Steven looked. And it wasn't Adam. However, he does have coffee in his hands.
Steven squinted through his thick rimmed glasses, thinking if this is a dream. Is he dreaming? Is he asleep, is he still riding the plane? He stood up and almost stumbled over his own fricking luggage, and the man who is standing 7 feet away from him shook his head with a smile on his face.
He placed the coffee cups on a bench near him before walking towards Steven. His steps became faster as he approached the now-dark-haired man. "Steven," he spoke ever so softly before raising his arms to embrace Steven, who is in a state of shock.
"Andrew?" It came out as a confused statement. "Andrew. Andrew?"
Andrew laughed, partly because of Steven's weird question, and because he could practically feel Steven's palpitation. He shouldn't drink coffee.
"Steven." Andrew said once again.
Steven recognizes this dizzyingly deep voice. It made him exhale in relief, his hands slowly making their way to Andrew's back. It feels warm.
Steven thought he doesn't need a coffee anymore.
