Often times, it seems that Portland marks the "last leg" of a band's tour- This factor can make-or-break a performance -- hey! I'm just sayin'...
HOWEVER.
Last night, I headed over to Stantonova to enjoy the music of the TUMBLEWEED WANDERERS, TANGO ALPHA TANGO, and PAPER & PLASTIC. When this quintet -- Jeremy, Rob, Daniel, Patrick & Zak -- started jammin', my size 8, Flintstone feet, couldn't stop moving.
Their roots-style guitar playing, combined with just the right amount of percussion, harmonica, and keys, had everybody that had shoved their way into the packed basement at Stantonova swaying their hips -- at the very least... **************************************
True to A.D.D. form, I'm not sure where, or how, I came across the tunes of the TUMBLEWEED WANDERERS -- from the first time I heard 'em, I've loved their sound. So, with my severely lacking somewhat-like-a-ninja skills, I tracked down the five guys from Oakland, and was pleasantly surprised when they actually agreed to sit down with me...
*STAY TUNED FOR MY INTERVIEW w/ Zak, Rob, Jeremy, Daniel, and Patrick = The TUMBLEWEED WANDERERS!

Their first full-length album, So Long, was recorded, mixed, and produced at Tiny Telephone Studios by studio owner and indie rock legend, John Vanderslice.
After they perform at their nearly sold-out album release event this Thursday, held at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, CA -- the TUMBLEWEED WANDERERS are fresh n' ready to kick off their tour; they'll be traveling the country and performing night after night, as the opening act for -- yes, seriously -- NEIL YOUNG. Suddenly, these guys don't seem to be wandering anymore...
