How about some uhhh stage musical actor Hisoka hc's
OH, Cupcake… you tease. You know how to get me.
For anyone that doesn’t know I work in theatre so this is all coming from personal experience of working with actors of all ages and backgrounds.
I can’t see canon Hisoka being dedicated enough to a true musical in canon so this is a bit au in nature. I could see him doing a sudden play a la anime “oh no we need someone to do a role”, but this is deeper than that. So, bear with me. This will be my longest HC.
At the audition Hisoka would arrive early. All the other actors and actresses would arrive and instantly be shocked when they see this elaborately decorated man sitting with grace and playing with cards to pass the time. Normally you show up 15-30min before your audition time but he’d be there earlier than that. Just to intimidate the competition.
The other people would notice how loudly he dressed. Even for a performer this is a bit over the top. Surely he isn’t real competition. He is, they are wrong.
During the audition he would perform his materials with flourish, pizazz, and drama. The director would be totally swayed, the stage manager would be marking secret notes about how he was going to be trouble.
He has signed his name next to the cast posting before anyone else has even arrived. (How does he do that?)
Rehearsals he would always arrive at the exact same time, not first but still early. The stage manager would love this, but also stay on their toes. Something about him just makes them feel like he could cause problems.
From the first read through of the script half the cast wants to murder him, the other half want to befriend him, they all want to fuck him- they won’t all admit to this part.
The costume designer changes his character’s outfit the moment they meet. It needs to be more. The director agrees. Hisoka smiles. The wardrobe head cries.
When Hisoka gets measured for his costume, he stays professional but his entire personality is flirtatious and even the wardrobe staff that is used to flirtatious actors get a bit red in the face when taking his inseam measurement.
He never misses rehearsal (In canon Hisoka is quite dependable when he is doing something he wants to do. In Heavens Arena he only missed matches to keep his ranking.) But he keeps mostly to himself and only a few of the other performers have the guts to approach him. Sometimes after a day off a performer will come into rehearsal and have a few new strange marks.
If the right person is casted opposite him, he will gravitate towards them. Poking them verbally, casually touching them with an arm over the shoulder or “accidental” shoulder bumps. Their reactions will fuel him to continue to do so, and by opening he has needled them enough that their performances are more real than acting.
Hisoka gets casted as the dashing villain. His natural ability to be elegant and sexual fits him perfectly into the role (sometimes he gets to be the lead but very specific parts.) Since he is in the top billing of the show he gets his own dresser.
He does little things to get attention: leaves a garment hung just wrong enough to get the dresser to fix it, leaves a prop at the wrong end of the table. Lighting technicians love him though, because he always finds his light. He never misses his mark. Audio team sometimes has to remind Hisoka to wear his mic correctly, but he can always be heard so they aren’t as perturbed by him.
He could do his own makeup, but he let’s his dresser do the finer details so he has an excuse to torture talk to them. If the wardrobe head isn’t the one acting as his dresser, they quickly take the job when the dresser gets too flustered during a dress rehearsal and Hisoka almost misses an entrance.
Hisoka memorizes his lines very quickly, but sometimes he will embellish them. The stage manager keeps correcting him, the director says what Hisoka is doing is better.
Knowing how to work a system, Hisoka makes comments about everything so it is carefully tailored to his liking. Oh yes, he does like his costume. The tone suits his skin so nicely, even if the buttons seem to be a bit bland in comparison. That is how this character would want it. (The buttons get changed.) The position of this chair makes him want to move this way, that is why he forgot the blocking. (The chair is moved.) He does all of this in a way that the production team feels more compelled to change these things, but every now and then someone puts their foot down because they are on to him. That is the part he likes the most.
During performances he is where he needs to be when he has to be there, but the stage crew quickly learns that Hisoka will be where ever he wants to be at all other times. He’s supposed to be on stage in ten minutes, but no one has seen him backstage lately. He isn’t in the green room, he isn’t in the restroom, where is he?
Sometimes they will find him quietly talking to a stage crew member, by now he has had his fill of the other performers and the crew is more interesting, making them blush in the dark.
At bows he gets the loudest applause every time. There are always gifts waiting for him in his dressing room after shows, but he never goes to meet and greets after. He always disappears, leaving his gifts behind save for taking a few sweets from time to time.
He will appear for opening night parties, dressed in his strange way but still nice. He stays for a while and eventually leaves without drawing notice. He never goes to wrap up parties. After his final bow for the closing show, his costume will be hung and his room devoid of any of his items. No one will know when he left.
