According to a post I saw on here covering the whole fuck up Renner made a rude joke about Black Widow, and then Chris laughed (but when doesn't he laugh, eh?) And continued making jokes about it (I think) (I'm not sure) (don't trust me) (i'm a terrible source)
Yeah, I found the post. He laughed, and he did continue making jokes about it.
I somehow don’t feel like it means he’s a terrible person, though - like, he just doesn’t know it’s a harmful joke. Like, if people said that that was harmful, and explained how it hurt them, I think he’d probably understand, and apologize, because he’s that kind of person. There are certain kinds of people who will defend their right to make jokes about anything, but he seems like he’d be more focused on making sure people were happy. You know what I’m saying?
I also more blame Renner, because he made the joke, putting Chris in a position where it would have been very difficult for him to challenge it without looking like he was ruining the moment. This ties back to my point - I feel like Chris has lived in a society that taught him that that sort of thing was funny and he didn’t want to look like he was not agreeing with the fun. But I feel like if he realized he wasn’t contributing to making people happy, he wouldn’t do it.
(I hope this is making sense.)
Basically, we need to recognize that it’s wrong, but also that there are a lot of reasons and that this doesn’t mean Chris Evans is a terrible person.
1) I looked him up in that movie and literally every picture of him looks like he's wondering whether or not he left he oven on or not and 2) whAT THE HECK PRIDE AND PREJUDICE IS 5 HOURS WHO HAS TIME FOR THAT??
OMG THAT’S TRUE
but have you read/watched any version of pride and prejudice though? because he is actually an interesting character
