It has been a very tough week. If you are in the retail game like myself you have either had to get the tough conversation or, if like me, had to give the tough conversations. Conversations I should not have to do. Simply its all grinding to a halt, a slow death. I really feel for people in the hospitality world simple because it has been crushed right in front of them. Even seeing a big chain such as Starbucks with low staff and making minimal sales is very depressing. Worst of all not only will we loose some fantastic businesses, we will loose a generation of great up and coming merchants who will simply put their creative energy elsewhere. Once the dust settles let's hope we can gather ourselves, actually make decisions and rebuild.
