If you’re filled with sudden fervor to start a meditation practice, maybe start with five minutes rather than a ten day silent retreat. If you haven’t lifted a pen in years but you want to write a book, maybe aim for a page, or a chapter first. Baby steps are less thrilling, but they’re way more sustainable. WEATHER REPORT - THREE OF WANDS.⁣ ⁣ Maybe it’s Mercury retrograde, but lately I feel like we’ve been pulling a lot of cards related to making minor adjustments, course corrections, small but helpful realizations and perspective shifts. ⁣ ⁣ Today, the Three of Wands asks us to look at what it would really take to realize our vision. What skills would we need? What resources? What kind of passion and determination would we need to summon in order to actually create the thing we’re imagining?⁣ ⁣ Mercury is still all backwards for a little while yet, so don’t feel like you need to reach the finish line today, or even that you need to have the next step ready to go. This time is questioning and exploring and tentatively planning, rather than rushing to act. WEATHER REPORT - FOUR OF CRYSTALS. You know what’s really fucking tiring? Trying to control everything all the time. Extra bonus exhaustion points for trying to control everything all the time because we loathe and fear uncertainty, because we can’t hold our seat on unsteady ground. Sigh! It’s very human, isn’t it? This impulse to grasp and hold and wrangle into submission? Today, I’m going to gently posit that we try to loosen our grip. Let’s try a little surrender, even if we’re scared and ambitious and hungry for things to go our way. Clinging and being inflexible doesn’t ultimately help us reach our goals, and it certainly doesn’t help us with our peace of mind along the way. Today, in whatever way you can, try to relax. Let go.
