I’ve been enjoying Stardew Valley a great deal, but I have recently ran into one thing that bugs me. It’s the two-heart event with Penny and George.

There is no People First language here, and neither option is really good all-in-all.

Penny means well, but just pushing George out of the way without so much as asking is really bad. And for the PC, your choices(besides minding your own business) are to say she was doing a nice thing or that she shouldn’t have done that because George is grumpy now.

In either case George has every right to be upset, and when choosing the first option, he apologized like he should have been grateful she came and helped was ridiculous. 

I do get get it’s a small town and even in real life the amount of people doing stuff like this is higher than you might think. People First language can be summed up as being considerate of others feelings and equipment, such as their wheelchairs and what have you.

In this situation, she should have asked and if he agreed, waited for him to move his own self forward then get it for him.

At the end of the day, I’m not losing sleep over it. This is just a rambling post.
