Hey, sorry if this was already asked, i didn't find any similar questions, i'm curious to know how long it had taken you to develop a style? i can't seem to stick to only one, i make like 3 drawings in 1 style and then move on to another, i just get sick of most styles really quickly. Have you ever experienced something like this?

Do not worry about not having a style. Keep drawing and experimenting with as many styles as you please, eventually you’ll find yourself naturally gravitating towards a more specific look. My current style is not one i chose to have, and i am not trying to stick to it. its just what happens when i draw.

so i bought a small notepad at a japanese festival and i’m just noticing it has a bunch of typos, english mistakes and... inspirational... quotes like this one lol credits go to my fren stardustpalace for turning it into an aesthetic gif

you can clearly see that @pinklilies made hers before @stardustcake. pinklilies also had another version that was posted on july 22nd i believe.

i am only posting this because stardustcake blocked me and is not willing to admit that she copies others. even when confronted she is very hostile. this isn’t the first time. many other artists have complained about this as well.

Hey! Don't know if you still want questions but would you mind sharing what/when started your love for historical costumes/art? Also, do you have any favorite painters (preferably not contemporary)? or a favorite art piece?

Good evening, I’m always open to questions or chatting!

I would say that my love for historical costumes and art started at a very-very early age, thanks to my mother. Being from Hong Kong, she was raised with a lot of European influence, and had relatives who enjoyed things with an 18th and 19th century style. When she had me, the enjoyment of those styles trickled over. My mother is also very worldly- stressing the importance of traveling the world, experiencing new cultures, and learning about history. She is also artistic, creative, and a wonderful painter. I had a very enriched childhood thanks to her. 

Influence also strongly came from me being raised in Oregon. I mean, Portland is famed for being really quirky, with this overall avant-garde culture. The people not only love art, but they love all cultures, and they love history. They embrace it with open arms. 

Here are a few painters I enjoy : Jean-Honoré Fragonard, François Boucher, Jean Baptiste Robie, Nicolas de Largillière, Jean Frederic Schall, Georges Jules Victor Clairin , Anthony van Dyck.

I don’t really have a favorite art piece. However I find myself more contemplative over paintings of people and especially old biblical paintings depicting saints or angels. Although where my passion really lies is seeing artwork from ancient civilizations.
