Spoilers for Starfield. I went back really really far on my saves for my first character, Aeries, now I’ve become re obsessed and over obsessed with the game, I wanted to go back to a point where everyone was….alive. When I first played it with her, I just powered through the main storyline hoping to do all the other stuff afterwards but obviously that didn’t really work out and I never got over losing Barrett. I used to have him by default on my ship and loved hearing him and my companion’s chitchat, I swear the silence on my ship after he died was unbearable. So I went back, from level 30 to level 15, really really far and finally found a save when he was still alive. I then meticulously recreated and improved my rambler spaceship that I have been flying with for ages and had decorated just how I like. Then I realised that old save was just before getting into a relationship with Sam so I got to do that all over again with the new mods and my new photo Mode project so that was fun and now I have Barrett in both saves. Looking forward to doing everyone’s personal quests and paying attention this time.
I have such a Lovehate relationship with Bethesda but I love that they allow fans to improve the game but I hate that the game can be lacking without the fans. But then I love how much of a blank canvas they give you in Skyrim in Fallout in Starfield. I have imagined more than I think in any other games any other world stories. Except may be dragon age. it gives you unfinished symphonies to finish yourself. What’s that beautiful quote about God making wheat but not bread so we can participate in the act of creation. To me, Bethesda is like that but in a less serious silly just for fun kind of way.
