Ok I’m going to be straight with everyone for a hot second. We have fucked up as a fandom, people have driven away a fantastic artist in the form of starfleetrambo, because they took a specific iteration of a character we all (including starfleet themselves) head cannon as fat, plus sized, big boned, whatever you want to call it, and drew them as thin.

This was a creative choice they made based off of their own experiences as well as a visual technique to differentiate between The real Martin Blackwood and his construction, as well as show the effect the lonely has on martin, and even how martin views himself as hollow. The fact that this isn’t acknowledged is frankly disappointing from an apparently insightful fandom and infuriating alongside it.

By its nature tma has young adults as it’s current audience. We are adults. We should have the experience and critical thinking ability and empathy to realise that there is a human being on the other side of the screen and they made their choices for a reason, one they have shared mind you, that is not malicious, and yet people have gone out of their way to demonise them
